I would like to bring to your attention a relatively new journal that you
could consider as a possible outlet for publication. You can also mention
it to your librarians, for acquisition purposes. Unfortunately, none of of
the university libraries have managed to subscribe to it as of yet.

GIS Analyst/Conservation Biologist


The Methow Research Station of  Sierra Biodiversity Institute (SBI) is accepting 
applications for a GIS Analyst/Conservation Biologist position. Sierra Biodiversity 
Institute is a non-profit, public


Location:
The Methow Research Station is located in the Methow Valley, on the east side of the 
Cascades in northern Washington.  The Methow is a small, rural, relatively isolated 
area, with abundant outdoor r


Position specifics:
Position available immediately.
Salary $22,000 - $24,000, benefits negotiable.

Qualifications:
* Strong background and interest in conservation biology, ecology, or wildlife 
biology.  MS preferred.
* Experience with ArcView and Arc/Info software (PC and UNIX)
* High level of comfort with Windows 95. Windows NT, and UNIX).  Familiarity with MS 
Office software (Word, Excel, Access) desired
* Familiarity with computer hardware setups, networking, desired.
* Good writing and editing skills
* Organized, self-motivated, good inter-personal skills

Duties - Exact duties dependent upon employee's skills/experience, but may include the 
following:
* Conduct landscape level conservation prioritization on watershed and regional scales
* Develop conservation GIS training materials
* Lead ArcView training workshops
* Provide GIS, technical and other support services to non-profit conservation groups
* Conduct GIS analyses and create maps for a wide variety of research projects
* Write and edit reports
* May assist with fund-raising, writing proposals, etc.
