Hotspots of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services under Global Changes.

The conference will provide a platform to review advances in research on
wetland biodiversity and ecosystem management as well as the functional
roles of wetlands in ecosystem services and wise use. The conference program
will include symposiums, workshops and open sessions related to the
conference theme, plus a one day mid-conference excursion.

Currently we are calling for symposium and workshop proposals. Please find
the requirements on the OFFICIAL POSTER(the attached file)and submit your

[ECOLOG-L] North America Pleistocene / Holocene paleo-ecology data, collaboration?

2015-06-04 Thread Eric Kansa
Hello all,

I'm working on a project that is integrating pretty big datasets
collected by state governments that document human occupation of N.
America since the Pleistocene. Though our coverage is currently limited
to the US south-east and midwest, we hope to expand in the next few
years. Here's a current map on a testing server:

http://opencontext.dainst.org/sets/United+States?proj=52-digital-index-
of-north-american-archaeology-dinaageodeep=11

We also have lots of good APIs for accessing data, documented here
(http://opencontext.dainst.org/about/services).

My colleagues and I want to use these with paleo-environmental data of
different types to explore long-term issues with human interaction with
the landscape. However, since I'm an archaeologist (and mainly working
on data sharing issues), I don't know what's available in paleo-ecology.
I'd love to know what sorts of data and data sharing systems exist in
this space and also work toward interoperability and collaboration.

Thanks!
-Eric Kansa
