Graduate Research Assistant A Graduate Research Assistant is needed to assist in a NSF-funded study examining the morphological evolution, biogeography and community ecology of New World bats. The applicant would matriculate at the Ph.D. level. It is anticipated that the appointment would start in the fall semester of 2011, however flexibility exists based on qualifications. Responsibilities will include fieldwork and specimen collection, digitizing and capturing landmarks and subsequently analyzing morphometric data on bats. Remaining time will be spent pursuing scholarly activities, conducting lab related work, as well as analyzing and publishing results. Ability to use GIS as well as independently perform a wide variety of univariate and multivariate statistical analyses, and design and implement statistical tests based on permutation, bootstrap and randomization is a plus. A strong desire and ability to learn these quickly is requisite.
