WestLand Resources, Inc. (WestLand) is an Environmental and Engineering consulting company that conducts biological surveys across southern Arizona. WestLand has several positions available for part time field biology technicians to assist with plant surveys for a number of native plant species that occur in Sky Island Mountains of southern Arizona.
WestLand is seeking applicants with majors in biology, botany, natural resources, or related areas who have course work and/or field experience appropriate for native plant surveys in southern Arizona. Field biology technicians will be part of a team led by an experienced field biologist. Candidates should have demonstrable plant identification skills, but species-specific training will be provided. Fieldwork requires good physical fitness and the ability to hike in rough terrain and hot weather under challenging conditions at times. Work will largely be based out of Tucson, Arizona, although some projects may require travel of up to 5 days. Lodging and meal per diem will be provided for work conducted outside of Tucson, AZ. Candidates should be available to start work in April or early May, and be available through the end of May.
