Hi Mattina-
For what it’s worth, our lab group at Cornell has some online training videos
in bioacoustic analysis, that should help you guys get started.:
http://ravensoundsoftware.com/video-tutorials/
The videos are primarily targeted at users of our Raven software, but the
approaches are useful for any sound analysis package.
I can also provide some guidance or suggestions if you all would like more
input.
Additionally, we also offer an intensive training workshop in Ithaca that I can
send you more information on if it’s helpful.
Cheers,
Aaron

Subject: [ECOLOG-L] Online/Low Cost or Free Bioacoustics Course
Hi All,
I am mentoring a senior undergraduate who is looking for somewhat formal
training in bioacoustics data collection and analysis, particularly avian call
or song data. We are not trying to do anything TOO complicated, but we are
going to record bird calls and need to analyze differences both in call
signature as well as time of call (as in time of day).
Does anyone know of any online courses centered around this type of thing?
Thanks for any insight or advice!
Mattina
