Post-Doc in Ecological Modeling and Fish Ecology

Description:
Participate in research projects to develop and apply various models (e.g., 
multi-variate statistical, spatially-explicit bioenergetics) to explore the 
ecological responses of fish populations and communities in inland lakes and 
the Laurentian Great Lakes to land-use, invasive species and other 
anthropogenic stressors.  The incumbent will be expected to make use of 
physical/biological field data, as well as output from other models in 
developing and applying novel analyses. In addition, the incumbent will 
interact and help mentor undergraduate and graduate students, prepare 
manuscripts, and give presentations at national conferences. Opportunities to 
participate in developing research proposals and teaching university courses 
may be available.

The selected individual will be employed by Purdue University and the position 
will be located in the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources 
(www.fnr.purdue.edu) in West Lafayette, IN.

Compensation includes salary and benefits. Exact start date is negotiable (can 
start sometime from April-September 2018).

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include a PhD in Fisheries, Ecology, or related field. 
Strong quantitative skills and a willingness to work with interdisciplinary 
research teams are required. Experience in developing or using bioenergetics, 
simulation and/or food web models are desired.
