[ECOLOG-L] Survey About Ecology Journals at ESA

2013-08-05 Thread Daniel Hocking
Dear ecologists,

I am conducting a survey of ecologists related to publishing practices and
journal ratings. I plan to compare the opinion of ecologists about journal
influence and quality to citation-based metrics.

I am at the ESA annual meeting in Minneapolis and now have a table setup
near registration (just to the right if you're facing registration, next to
the information booth). There are paper copies of the survey. If you're at
ESA and have 5 minutes to spare between sessions, it would be great if you
could fill out a survey. You can return them to the box on the table.

Hope to meet some of you. I'll be here through Friday and will try to hang
out by the table during breaks, so stop by and say hi.

If you don't have time or didn't make it to ESA you can still fill out the
survey online at: https://unh.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_8eT2TR8U0MEH4wt

Feel free to contact me with questions.

[ECOLOG-L] Survey about Ecology Journals

2013-07-30 Thread Daniel Hocking
Dear Ecologists,

I am a postdoctoral research associate at the University of New Hampshire. I
am conducting a survey of ecologists related to perception of journal
influence and prestige. I am recruiting ecologists to participate in a short
survey (5-10 minutes to complete). The questions related to the quality and
relative rank of ecology journals. The perception of ecologists will be
compared with various citation-based metrics of journal influence and
impact. The survey is anonymous and will be used for peer-reviewed
publications. The survey is voluntary and no compensation will be provided
for completion. You can access the survey at
https://unh.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_8eT2TR8U0MEH4wt

This survey has been approved by the University of New Hampshire
Institutional Review Board. Please contact me with any questions.

Thanks,
Dan
