Provalis Research is pleased to announce the release of WordStat 3.0.
WordStat is a content analysis module specifically designed to analyze
textual information such as responses to open-ended questions, interviews,
titles, journal articles, public speeches, electronic communications, etc.
WordStat may be used both for automatic categorization of text using a
dictionary approach and for manual coding.
New features include:
o Full 32-bit application.
o Improved computation speed (2x to 10x or more).
o Correspondence analysis (statistics, 2D & 3D joint plots). This new
allows one to examine graphically the relationship between grouping
variables and words or categories resulting from a content analysis.
o Option to use disk for storage of temporary data, allowing analysis of
larger projects.
o Support for larger memo fields (up to 64K rather than 32K).
o Ability to define different criteria for cooccurrence in clustering
and multidimensional scaling. Co-occurrence of words or categories
may be defined when appearing in the same:
o record (as in version 2.0)
o paragraph
o sentence
o user defined section
o window of n words
o Display of cluster analysis statistics (cooccurrence and similarity
matrix, agglomeration schedule statistics)
o New option for case sensitive content analysis.
o Ability to temporarily disable specific words or categories.
o More flexible keyword highlighting (the text editor can display all
categories using different colors).
o Powerful dictionary building assistant to find related words
(synonyms, antonyms, holonyms, meronyms, hypernyms, hyponyms)
in a WordNet based thesaurus (English only).
o New option for either exclusive or overlapping category systems.
o New utility program to easily transfer documents of any size into
Simstat database files. Large documents (i.e., larger than 64K)
are automatically splitted and stored in different memo fields or
records. Various file formats are supported such as:
o Plain text (with optional DOS ASCII to Windows ANSI
conversion)
o HTML (with or without removal of HTML tags)
o RTF
o MS Words *
o WordPerfect *
o Excel *

differ depending on your windows version and configuration.
