[Ekiga-devel-list] Ubuntu packages for Ekiga 3.0 (Gutsy, Hardy and Intrepid)
Hello, I've made some packages for Ubuntu. Before uploading them on ekiga.org, i would like to have some volunteers to test them. Do they install properly? Run fine? Can you quit properly? Can you place a call to sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ? Those kind of stuff. I would also know if your settings are preserved during the upgrade from 2.0.x. (like your phone numbers...) Give it a try while it's hot: https://launchpad.net/~sevmek/+archive Best regards, Yannick -- Me joindre en téléphonie IP / vidéoconférence ? sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Logiciel de VoIP Ekiga : http://www.ekiga.org http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Which_programs_work_with_Ekiga_%3F ___ Ekiga-devel-list mailing list Ekiga-devel-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/ekiga-devel-list

I still have the names, but not the phone numbers. Are they really gone for good, or can they be at all retrieved? If you right click, doesn't it give you the option to call using the phone number ? No. I get a menu with four items: Edit, Remove, Refresh and New Contact. When selecting Edit I get another window containing boxes for Name, VoIP URI, Home phone, Office phone, Cell phone and Pager - but, with the exception of Name, the boxes are empty. The numbers I had under Ekiga 2.0.12 are gone :-( ___ ekiga-list mailing list ekiga-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/ekiga-list
[Ekiga-list] Logitech Webcam (Not GO) solution
Back when I was a highly-paid engineer in Chicago, one of these little Logitech Webcams got into my stable of parts- musta been 1996-97. I wasted THREE HOURS trying to get the thing working under Windows, but grinned brightly when I plugged it into Linux and it worked right out of the box. Fast forward to now: I just spent my 5th hour and final hour going over google, trying to re-establish this kind of relationship. Everything's newer now, and I understand that, going to 0v511-jpeg, spcxxx, and so on. But short of getting out the source code and wasting the afternoon (why?) I thought I'd ask if someone in this audience has one of them working. Maybe I'll get a reply before someone empties the trashcan. :) I'm running a very 'clean' Ubuntu Hardy, no sourcecode or special projects to get in the way. I'm getting the 'usb-returned -28' thing, which I'm told is supposed to be the same as no space left on device. I really don't want to break into source code; I shouldn't have to- it's the foundational device on which all these others were built, and it once took nothing at all. (We're regressing the way Microsoft's been doing, lately). If you have one of these under Linux, didn't have to hack into the source code, let me know, aye? I'd sure appreciate it. -- Brian Fahrländer Christian, Conservative, and Technomad Evansville, IN ICQ: 5119262 AOL/Yahoo/GoogleTalk: WheelDweller ___ ekiga-list mailing list ekiga-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/ekiga-list

The numbers I had under Ekiga 2.0.12 are gone :-( Those numbers are stored in Evolution's addressbook. If they disappeared, there are three possibilities : 1) you were running the non-Gnome version and now you are running the Gnome version of Ekiga 2) the opposite 3) a bug in evolution-data-server But Ekiga still works the same regarding the phone numbers. They are even stored in an external entity. So there is no risk of loosing them. The only different thing is that they are not displayed by default, you have to right-click... -- _ Damien Sandras (o- //\Ekiga Softphone : http://www.ekiga.org/ v_/_ NOVACOM : http://www.novacom.be/ FOSDEM : http://www.fosdem.org/ SIP Phone : sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ ekiga-list mailing list ekiga-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/ekiga-list

Yes, Diamondcard has been getting my business for the past year and a bit and I have no objections. Their service seems on a par with other comparably priced providers. best wishes, Oisin Feeley ___ ekiga-list mailing list ekiga-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/ekiga-list

I'm wondering if this service is well suited (i know skype's users having some troubles) Thanks in advance, gerard Wengo is my favourite because Wengos are not expensive. With Ekiga 3.0.0, using my wengo's account is easier than with Ekiga 2.x.x since picking an outbound proxy is no more needed. (I don't understand, i note.) Hope this helps.ed Actually there are two versions of their webcam between mine and yours; unfortunately yours and ones that followed are the only ones they [writers AND webcam designers] chose to move forward with. That's ok. It's already where it needed to go. I had an IRMan like this the other day; I spent $35 on it back in those days. I must have put dozens of man-hours into getting it to work on various versions of Redhat, then Fedora, then Ubuntu, but it worked for like...30 minutes in it's lifetime. [Ekiga-list] The man's got problems
Hello friendly list, I've eagerly upgraded to Ekiga 3.0 and, after running the configuration druid (and re-entering all my account info by hand from the old ekiga.conf), suddenly find myself with troubles. My ekiga.net account gives a Could not register(Timeout) status, and while my sip.diamondcard.us account will register, making calls doesn't seem to work at all---I click the green phone button, and Ekiga just sits there until I click the red phone button. Things I've tried: lowering my firewall (although it used to work with my firewall up before), killing all other sound-making apps (although my default audio devices in ALSA are dmix and dsnoop), making sure ekiga.net isn't down (the web server isn't, at any rate), double-checking all my passwords, reading the man page, scouring the wiki, restarting Ekiga, rebooting my machine, and praying. Can anyone help? R ___ ekiga-list mailing list ekiga-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/ekiga-list
