[Ekiga-list] Ekiga Design Document and compilation issues
Hi, I need to customize ekiga for IP camera support as a source of input. Is there any design document available for developers to understand the source code in order to make necessary changes ? Moreover I tried to compile ekiga 3.2.6 ( on fedora 11 ) but got the following compilation errors. Can anyone please help me out with them. ../../lib/gui/xwindow.cpp: In member function 'virtual int XWindow::Init(Display*, Window, _XGC*, int, int, int, int, int, int)': ../../lib/gui/xwindow.cpp:265: error: 'PVideoFrameInfo' was not declared in this scope ../../lib/gui/xwindow.cpp:265: error: expected ';' before 'srcFrameInfo' ../../lib/gui/xwindow.cpp:266: error: 'srcFrameInfo' was not declared in this scope ../../lib/gui/xwindow.cpp:267: error: 'dstFrameInfo' was not declared in this scope make[5]: *** [xwindow.lo] Error 1 make[5]: Leaving directory `ekiga/ekiga-3.2.6/lib/gui' make[4]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[4]: Leaving directory `ekiga-3.2.6/lib/gui' make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `ekiga-3.2.6/lib' make[2]: *** [all] Error 2 make[2]: Leaving directory `ekiga-3.2.6/lib' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `ekiga-3.2.6' make: *** [all] Error 2 [r...@eicpu1065 ekiga-3.2.6]# Following is my configuration log: Final configuration === Installing into prefix : /usr/local GNOME support : unneeded GConf support : enabled Evolution-Data-Server support : enabled NOTIFY support : disabled LDAP support : enabled XVideo support : enabled H.323 support : yes DBUS support : enabled DBUS service support : enabled mDNS/DNS-SD support : disabled The following features are experimental -- you've been warned: GStreamer support : disabled KAddressBook support : disabled KDE support : disabled XCAP support : disabled OS Type : linux-gnu Machine Type : i686 Byte Order : little endian If all settings are OK, type make and make install Let me know if you need more details. -- Thanks Regards, Sohil Shah -- _ Disclaimer: This e-mail message and all attachments transmitted with it are intended solely for the use of the addressee and may contain legally privileged and confidential information. A few small things though. 1 - Community page says You can subscribe on the right of this page - it would be better, perhaps, to say See below for mailing list information - There is no subscribe info on the right. Fixed. 2 - When the site goes live can we have a 'back to Home Page' link on all the wiki pages linked from the new site : * Documentation * Downloads - Linux * - snapshots * - source Or maybe just in the wiki main menu? (I notice that there is no Fedora paragraph in the wiki/Linux install instructions.) I did not find out how to change the main menu in the wiki. The plan is to move the wiki inside Drupal; this will fix the navigation issue. It might happen even sooner than I first though... Obviously a lot of work has gone into the new website - and it shows! A big pat on the back to everyone. Thank you. It was hard to manage/update for the Ekiga team and it was not as clear as our visitors expected it. We now reached the point were our new website can be more widely tested. For the visitor, we focused on improving the download experience, explain what Ekiga is more friendly for non-technophiles and added a Roadmap for those asking about the future of Ekiga. The new infrastructure behind the website, which is based on the well know open source Drupal framework, will allow us to update the content or the theme of the website much more easily. Please, visit the new website and provide us feedback before we go public. We want to provide the best experience possible. Moreover from then problems which I've been facing since last few days, I also suggest that some page of FAQs, mail archives, etc. should also be clearly visible. Details of compilation on Redhat, Fedora are also insufficient. Screenshots should also show multi user conference. These are merely my suggestions; No intentions of being offensive :-)). The documentation part, which is now in the wiki, will be reworked as part of the wiki move to drupal. But it is a huge work I will do after the Ekiga.net move to Drupal. Unfortunately, none of the core team use Fedora/Red Hat, thus it is very hard for us to document it... If you want, you can document this part; ask me and i'll grant you access to the wiki. [Ekiga-list] Video Encoding Module
Hi, I referred the code of ekiga 3.2.6. I tried to understand the video input module of ekiga ( ekiga-3.2.6/lib/engine/videoinput and ekiga-3.2.6/lib/engine/components/gstreamer ). I assume that the get_frame_data function will get raw data. So which module encodes it ? -- Thanks Regards, Sohil Shah Embedded Engineer eInfochips Ltd. Tel. No. +91 79 26563705 Ext. 120 Cell.
