[Ekiga-list] Ekiga 3.2.7 massively slow under xfce debian testing?

2011-08-31 Thread Andres Cimmarusti
Hi there,

Does anyone have this problem? in Xfce (testing only, stable works
fine), ekiga 3.2.7 becomes incredibly slow to open and becomes
unresponsive rather often.

It works just fine on my Debian squeeze and wheezy systems using Ekiga 3.2.7.
I got an email from diamondcard that there would be scheduled outage
of the service monday March 21st due to some server maintenance (they
said it would only affect the US). Perhaps this was the reason it
wasn't working for you. Retry today

I replaced skype by ekiga a while ago and I don't regret it. I also
use google video-voice service because calls in the US are currently
free.

Good luck

Re: [Ekiga-list] not able of talking to anybody in ekiga (stara posta)

2011-01-03 Thread Andres Cimmarusti
>Dear Antonio,

I also confirm the same issues. My girlfriend fired up Ekiga 3.2.6 on
her Ubuntu 10.04 (32-bits) laptop using her ekiga.net account. While I
was using Ekiga 3.2.7 on Debian Squeeze (64-bits) on my own ekiga.net
account.

First of all, even though she was online and added to my list of
contacts, she did NOT appear as online. Furthermore any attempt to
call her made by me ended up with the message "User not available".
Chat messages were also not received.

Curiously she was (sometimes) able to see me online. Whenever she
called me (whether I appeared online or not) I would get the call and
could talk and transmit video (though sometimes it just refused to
work...)

I'll try to test it this again and will try getting a backtrace.

[Ekiga-list] plans to implement VP8 (libvpx)

2010-07-19 Thread Andres Cimmarusti
Hey all,

With all this talk about H.264, I wonder if the ekiga developers plan to bring
support for google's new open source video codec?

I haven't seen any benchmarks between VP8, H.264 and Theora. But supposedly VP8
is pretty good.

Re: [Ekiga-list] Sound sometimes disabled

2010-04-14 Thread Andres Cimmarusti
Hi there,

If you enable the well-known lenny-backports repository, you will have ekiga
3.2.6 at your disposal (backported from testing). The only issue is that it has
only been packaged for 64 bits. However, the backporter said you should be able
to build the package for your architecture with the debianized sources (if you
need help with this, send me an email and I'll point in the right direction).

Cheers!

Andres
