Why? Is it just for info or do you want to help? (CC to ekiga ML) Hi, I'm interested into the released version. Not sure how I could help, there are only Build-deps version to fix, right? [Ekiga-list] Bug with video mode in-picture
Hi, I experience a bug with the video mode in-picture with two graphic chipsets (perhaps graphic drivers) that are Intel 855 and Via UniChrome (VT82xxx) (both drivers from X.org, intel and via). The bug: the video is flipping like crazy, and if the app isn't kill quickly the whole box can freeze. I checked the debug output level 1 for GMVideoOut, but it is not interesting. Are you aware of such an issue? Can I provide debug information? Cheers Mike ___ ekiga-list mailing list ekiga-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/ekiga-list
Re: [Ekiga-list] [Fwd: AW: [Fwd: Bug with video mode in-picture]]
Hi, Hi Mike, there are two things you can do about the flickering: a) send me a ekiga -d 4 debug output with the flickering Find the attached file. Hope this helps. b) turn of HW acceleration by enabling the following gconf key: /apps/ekiga/general/user_interface/video_display/disable_hw_accel Works fine on the Via board, I don't know for the intel 855 (I might have tried it, not sure, I will let you know). In this configuration I wanted Ekiga to display the remote+local video, but the options are kept insensitive in the menu View. In fact once a call is going on, the only choice is the Remote Video. In your opinion, is this a problem related to Ekiga? No... Is videosupport enabled in asterisk ? Is video transmission enabled in ekiga ? Yep, for both asterisk and ekiga. So I did some tests again, and I am now able to select the picture-in-picture mode :) It works with a build from snapshots.e.n. Another remark, despit the resolution of the video that I select in the Preferences Video Devices, I always and only get the remote video in 176x144. May this also be related to Ekiga or maybe Opal? In all cases, are you able to have calls with a resolution higher than 176x144? I was never able, and I am sceptique now about both issues. Ekiga 2 only works with 176x144. Ekiga 3 works with all resolutions, but Asterisk is broken with that respect. So with asterisk, except with a dirty workaround in ekiga, you will only get 176x144. This is very good to know.
