[Ekiga-list] Possible bug

2013-03-30 Thread gideon425 . ekiga
When I close the window showing the call history, the ekiga process does not
terminate.

When I use the menu option, Chat - Quit, ekiga does terminate.

[Ekiga-list] resume audio

2013-02-05 Thread gideon425 . ekiga
I am finding that the option resume audio is not working.

This is available from the call menu.

Is this a known bug?

I have a friend running MacOS X 10.7.5.

Does anyone run ekiga on MacOS? Is it easy to install?

[Ekiga-list] Receiving calls

2013-01-05 Thread gideon425 . ekiga
I saw your response to the other poster.

I think you have explained my problem, Eugen.

I assumed that as I can call a SIP server directly in other circumstances
without exposing ports, registration would be similar.

I would if it would be a good idea to include the information about ports in
the Welcome to Ekiga.net email

[Ekiga-list] Receiving calls

2012-12-30 Thread gideon425 . ekiga
Thanks for the response Eugen.

I registered on ekiga.net but it seems that the conference room 501 is broken.

When I call 5...@ekiga.net, I get a window popping up with the error Could not
register to XXX, Globally not acceptable where XXX is my user name.

I get this regardless of the user and password I configure with ekiga.

I conclude that ekiga.net SIP server is down.

I assume from your email that Damien often takes the system down and plans to
work on improving things.

I suggest that the web site be updated if the conference rooms are not
available. Also, ekiga could produce a better error message than Globally not
acceptable. I suggest No response from ekiga.net or something similar

[Ekiga-list] Receiving calls

2012-12-28 Thread gideon425 . ekiga
So far, I have only used ekiga for making calls.

I am now thinking about receiving calls and have been looking at ekiga.net for
information. My computer is configured with a firewall and this renders my
ports inaccessible to others on the internet. I do not want to change this
configuration.

Looking at ekiga.net, I think that they provide an SIP address but no service
to route calls to me. Is that correct?

If so, I would seem to have two options
1) somehow get hold of a service which routes call packets from them to me
2) use a private conference room provided by ekiga.net so I can just use ekiga
as a calling client and get the other party to call the room

Is that right?
