Mike, "I have my own video streaming solution with vlc, http://rdfintrospector2.blogspot.com/2009/04/firewire-vlc-streaming.html"; Thanks and no offense to Ekiga and I don't mean to abuse this forum. My understanding is that you exploit the approximate equivalence between VoIP and "remote presence". I've never used a vlc server. Any chance of someone writing a small tutorial about this? Could be useful with diverse systems. A friend complains that Gizmo does not work in his MacOS. ... What vlc client is available for MacOS? Regards,... Re: [Ekiga-list] Dont need ekiga, got vln
I would love to use ekiga, but vlc works for me, ekiga does not. I am having problems with the quality and the bandwidth, will need to setup some better way to distribute the data. ideally, the ekiga should be able to accept a pipe with the video stream as well, then you could use any tool to produce the video stream. mike On Sat, Apr 4, 2009 at 10:53 PM, michel memeteau wrote: > > > On Sat, Apr 4, 2009 at 8:31 PM, jamesmikedup...@googlemail.com < > jamesmikedup...@googlemail.com> wrote: > >> Yes, I agree. >> But for a video conference, all you need it two. >> it should have higher quality as well. > > > I don't see why , libs and components are pretty the same. > > Ekiga & Vlc in terms of quality should be quite the same ( 30 fps , H264 , > VGA ) > > -- > %<--->% > Michel memeteau > Blog 0.2 : http://memeteau.free.fr > Fixe : 0974763294 Mobile : 0624808051 > VOIP | Visio: sip:freeche...@ippi.fr > jabber/GTalk : xmpp:freeche...@jabber.fr > > ___ > ekiga-list mailing list > ekiga-list@gnome.org > http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/ekiga-list > ___ ekiga-list mailing list ekiga-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/ekiga-list
