It seems to be a local firewall restriction or at least something
blocked by the OS.
Does Ekiga 3.00 give the same result ?

I downloaded Ekiga from the SUSE repository
There EKIGA 3.00 binairies are not (yet) available.
The local firewall is not the culprit because with or without the local
 firewall on
 I get the same error.
 More suggestions?
 Thanks in advance Teunis

Hi,

The local firewall is not the culprit because with or without the local
firewall on
I get the same error.

I am not sure why you canot get a binary.
I have this on my 11.1 which works.

Information for package ekiga:

Repository: @System
Name: ekiga
Version: 3.0.1-1.22
Arch: i586
Vendor: openSUSE
Installed: Yes
Status: up-to-date
Installed Size: 4.6 M

NOTE: The one from opensuse did not work I had to get it from the repo-oss
site.

(you can add it to your repositories)

Brian
