Thanks for the fast reply. I created https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/3429. Index alias with sliding time window
Hi, when using ELK with standard configuration an new logstash index is created every day. Is there a possibility to create an alias, say "last-week" which always covers the last 7 days? I found several places within the ES docs where aliases like "last_3_month" or "current_day" are used in index templates. But I don't get how to you use these for a sliding time window. [Kibana] Possibility to hide _source field from Discover detail view?
Hi All, Is there any way in Kibana 4 to hide the _source field from the detail view on the Discover table? As all fields are already shown in the detail view, the additional _source field seems to increase the visual noise without adding any value. Yum installed ES uses unexpected data and log directories
Hi All, I just installed ES with yum install elasticsearch on RHEL 6.6. Due to http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/setup-dir-layout.html I expected ES to store logs in /var/log/elasticsearch which has been created by yum install. But instead logs are stored in /usr/share/elasticsearch/logs. The same goes for data which are stored in /usr/share/elasticsearch/data instead of /var/lib/elasticsearch. Configuration in /etc/elasticsearch/elasticsearch.yml is default except for cluster.name, i.e. no path.logs nor path.data configured Am I missing something?
