Re: [Elecraft] Nifty stand for KX3
I have one and like it well. It holds the KX3 securely with the stock rear feet hanging over the back edge. It's a tiny bit shorter in length than the KX3, not sure why, but no issues. Maybe so the cables are free to plug into the sides. The key is in a great spot, not that I am any good at the paddles, but then if it works for me... :) AND it's much better than the stock feet for seeing angle. It's a bit narrower so the angle brace for the rear feet fit over the edges to limit lateral movement on the stand. I have one. I like it. [Elecraft] Nifty Stand
One of the guys posted a wooden stand that he made for his KX3 on the KX3 yahoo group and put pics in the photo section. I used his example to make one out of black engineering plastic. His is nicer looking but both work very very well and have great viewing angles. Pics of mine are there also. Very easy to make and only took a couple hours to do. NAQCC Sprint Tuesday night! Our February sprint is this coming Tuesday evening local time (February 12, EST - 8:30-10:30PM, CST - 7:30-9:30PM, MST - 6:30-8:30PM, PST - 5:30-7:30PM), which translates as Wednesday February 13, 0130-0330Z in all cases. I will refer you to the proper URL: http://naqcc.info/sprint201302.html There you will find all the details as to time, frequencies and other important information. SPECIAL NOTE: This is the 100th regular NAQCC sprint, and to celebrate, the NAQCC is offering some very special prizes to 13 MEMBERS who participate and report their results. Prizes will be awarded via a computer drawing. The prizes are being kept a secret until the drawing, but the first prize will be an item valued at over $150.00. For details check the sprint rules. This is a monthly event that caters to the CW veteran, the CW newcomer, straight key and bug fans. All are welcome to participate (this includes QRO); but you must use QRP power levels to compete for awards. If you've been hesitant to join in our sprints because you hear other sprints running at breakneck speeds, have no fear. Our sprints are geared to the newcomer to CW and/or contesting. Virtually everyone including the many veteran contesters who regularly enter our sprints will slow down to YOUR speed to help you make your contacts. If you are not already a member of NAQCC... membership is FREE! Now is your chance to join the largest QRP CW Club in the world!! We currently have 6460+ members in: All 50 States - 9 VE Provinces - 92 Countries. Sign up on the NAQCC website today (http://naqcc.info/) to receive a handsome certificate, with your membership number on it, which is good for life.
