[Elecraft] KX3 paddle connector

2021-10-25 Thread Paul Huff
I have been exploring options for connecting a paddle, bug, or straight key, to
the front edge connector on my new KX3, and some of you have shared ideas and
suggestions with me. I greatly appreciate everything that has been given. But
I also contacted Elecraft technical support and asked them about that unusual
square 4-pin connection and they sent me a link to the actual part supplier
that they use. (Click here
) That is outstanding
customer support! I haven’t decided what I am going to do yet but I sure am
enjoying this new rig!

Re: [Elecraft] K2 K2 QSK?

2021-10-25 Thread Dave
“ How good is QSK on the K4? Smooth/transparent? Or clicky-choppy-AGC-pumpy?

- Jerry KF6VB”

Having a K1, K2, KX3, sold my K3, and have a K4D, I can say the K4 QSK
is as smooth as any of the others and better than the K3.

To be fair, smooth QSK operation depends on how much background noise
you have… as being able to hear between dots, or characters, results
in hearing the noise. While not an indication of smooth QSK, you can
sense the presence of strong signal between a string of dots at speeds
in excess of 30 wpm.
