Good Evening, Propagation was better. The noise level was higher, QSB was lower, and signals were stronger. The forty meter net worked a wide swath of the country. Winter is taking hold in many areas. Cold but not much snow unless you're out east. They have plenty. [Elecraft] 80M Elecraft SSB Announcement
When I pre-announced this net a couple of weeks ago, we had the highest number of checkins in recent memory, so I figured it would be worth it to try it again. Please join us on 3775 kHz, 9PM ET Sunday (0200Z Monday). 80M has been good at that time of the evening, with strong signals and little QRN from thunderstorms these days. Your net control lives in Ann Arbor, MI, and we've seen chilly weather in the teens the last few days, with some snow, enough for me to try out my new Ego snow blower. The holidays are bearing down on us, and the household has been humming right along. I still work from home, but I'm taking off next week, and planning to (among other things) complete my online FEMA coursework to qualify for the local RACES organization membership. I've recently been learning Winlink, using VARA HF on my K3S, which works like a charm. There are many opportunities to participate in weekly Winlink exercises, to help work out the kinks.
