[Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net Report

2023-02-12 Thread kevin via Elecraft

Good Evening,

There was some QSB on both bands.  Mostly it was weak and slow.  But
on forty, just around sunset, it became a fast flutter.  There was some
noise but it did not get in the way. Weather reports were of sunny, mild
days.  There was a warning about Tuesday.  Looks like ice storms for the
upper Mid-West. Those are never pleasant.

Now somewhere in the black mining Hills of Dakota
There lived a young boy named Rocky Raccoon
And one day his woman ran off with another guy
Hit young Rocky in the eye
Rocky didn't like that
He said, "I'm gonna get that boy"
So one day he walked into town
Booked himself a room in the local saloon
And Rocky Raccoon checked into his room
Only to find Gideon's Bible

Good conditions on 80M tonight. Your net control was a bit late, thanks
to Eric, WB9NJZ for kicking things off! For whatever reason my antenna
behaved itself this evening, so I was able to conduct the net almost
normally, only competing with needing to get back with the rest of the
household watching the Superbowl.

Hope to see you next week, and tell your friends!

73,

[Elecraft] Elecraft 80M SSB Net Announcement

2023-02-12 Thread Dave New, N8SBE
Please join us on 3784 kHz (NOTE THE NEW FREQUENCY), 9PM ET Sunday
(0200Z Monday).

80M has been good at that time of the evening, with strong signals and
little QRN from thunderstorms these days.

Your net control this week will be Dave, N8SBE, although I've had
intermittent antenna issues at high power the last couple of weeks.
This seems to be an 80M only issue, for some reason. If I continue to
have issues this evening, please listen for Eric, WB9JNZ, who did a
stellar job last week of taking over as NCS after my hi-power station
went down.

We had several days of above freezing temperatures and some sun, so the
snow is gone from the solar panels, and we had a couple of good days of
generation, here. The warmer temperatures are due this coming week,
with some rain.

Hope to see you this evening on the net.

73,
