Good Evening,

The sun has numerous, complex sunspot groups.  Curiously no strong flares are expected.  That is an interesting point of view :)  Flux is high and the auroral oval is bright.  I expect a steady hiss interrupted by lightning static.

Each morning this week the sky was red.  Haze from the forest fires blew in after three days of hot weather.  A cool breeze feels good although it is moving the smoke toward the Pacific. Rain would be nice but that's at least a month away.  A foggy morning would lessen fire danger.

I found the Gray Jays.  In the winter they are common at the feeder and water basin along with Steller's Jays.  In April they disappear.  I started seeing immature Gray Jays when they dropped on the roof during flight training.  That got me watching what is going on above me.  The Steller's Jays stay mostly in the lower branches.  The Gray Jays migrated upward into the mid to high canopy branches, 70 to 100 feet above me.  I knew Band-tailed Pigeons lived up there, while crows visit now and then.  Now I know the Gray Jays move up during spring and summer.  I need to note when they drop down again.  Scrub Jays do not live at this elevation.
