[Elecraft] All that and a bag of chips
As a new K4D owner (delivered yesterday) I’m here to report, yes Wayne, I love the radio. You were correct 😀 Up ’til midnight, I got it all configured to my liking on CW and SSB. In addition, I connected my Wellbrook loop to RX ANT 1 in. All is working to my satisfaction. Great radio. With a tip of the hat to those who waited for their K4’s, mine was ordered last Friday and arrived the following Tuesday. Re: [Elecraft] Behringer XM1800S Mic Does not work on k3
How have you wired the cable? The Behringer mic is designed (XLR 3) for a balanced audio connection. Wire the cable with pin 2 of the XLR to the tip of a 3.5mm plug, pin 3 to the sleeve of the 3.5mm plug and the cable shield to the sleeve of the 3.5mm plug (no connection to the XLR). Connect the 3.5mm plug to the rear panel Mic jack. Select CONFIG:MIC rP.H (rear panel, high gain) and make sure the slide switch on the mic is *ON*. If you want to use the front panel mic jack, connect XLR pin 2 to pin 1 and XLR pin 3 to pin 7, a cable shield can be connected to pin 8. The Behringer mic does not include a PTT switch. You will need to use the K3 TX button, VOX or connect a hand/foot switch to the PTT (RCA) jack on the rear panel of the rig. 73, ... Before I break down ( and suffer my XYL's consternation) to buy a compatible Heil product, does anyone have any suggestions? I have the same setup I am trying to use on a Heil proset with no issues. I suspect the mic is the primary issue since it is not an electret mic. Any suggestions are appreciated. [Elecraft] K-Pod button problems
During the weekend's WW RTTY contest I used a K3S and a K-Pod. The K-Pod worked great for RIT control. I tried to use it to occasionally switch my RX antenna in and out but then I was quickly reminded why I do not use this function and instead use the RX ANT button on the radio. I have the F4 button programed so a quick press toggles the RX antenna and a long press switches the radio to 40m. What happens on random occasions is tapping the F4 button will switch the radio to 160m instead of toggling the RX antenna input. It is really annoying to be running stations on 40m and then the radio just jumps to another band. The QSO gets messed up and there is a risk of losing the run frequency. Incidentally a long press of F8 is programmed to switch the radio to 160 and that was definitely not accidently touched. I am unsure of the firmware version. Is this a known problem? Is here a cure? Re: [Elecraft] K-Pod button problems
Hello John & the Elecraft Gang, I have a similar problem with one of my KPOD switches. (I also use the KPOD for RIT when I'm running in CW and RTTY.) In my case, I have F3 programmed to toggle in and out of Diversity RX. Tap F3 = DIV; Tap & Hold F3 = clear DIV. For many years this worked like a charm, but recently when operating SPLIT, if I tap F3, it clears SPLIT. If I put the radio back into SPLIT, Tap & Hold F3 again clears SPLIT. The same DIV on/off with the SUB button on the radio does not mess with SPLIT. If this function hadn't operated correctly before, I would naturally suspect a programming issue. Could this somehow be defective switches? Reload firmware? BTW: the F3 Tap / F3 Tap & Hold by themselves work flawlessly. Any ideas much appreciated!
