Re: [Elecraft] KH1 delivery date projection please

2023-10-27 Thread Wayne Burdick
Hi Pete,

KH1s from the first production batch will start shipping next week. We
underestimated demand but hope to get a 2nd batch going right away. If you
order right now your KH1 would likely arrive in January. Sorry I can't predict
it more accurately.

I bet you've never used that retort before now.

I don't need any servants, but I could use a

I believe this used to go out automatically every month, but anyway;

Please review,,, and NOTE; we now have over 7000 members!
(there were only 3000 when Eric wrote this) > Specifically re recent discussion
see sections;
3, 4a, 5, 5a, 5a1, 5b, 8.

Just an opinion, not trying to start another mail thread:
I would like the list owner to consider restricting forsale messages.

With the K4 being available and the availability of some K3 options, I
now see a flurry of messages from people offloading their kit, or
looking for something.

A discussion about a K3 that has a defect or a modification will benefit
future readers for years to come (yes, I do use the archives which I
think is a valuable part of the reflector).

The flurry of messages "K3 for sale ... K3 has been sold" lost their
value the moment the message is on the list. The person offloading
doesn't care when he switches to flex or whatever but damage to the
archives is forever.

If the reflector degrades to a forsale list then attendance will be 6999
and probably (much) lower.

Well, on Ebay, they go for $100. But I'm only asking $99! And you
won't have to

He followed me for a few steps as I left, trying to convince me.

As often happens, I thought of what to say afterwards:

If I'm on Ebay looking at an MFJ frequency counter, it's probably
because I'm specifically
looking FOR an MFJ frequency counter. In that case, the $100 is
possibly reasonable. At the flea
market OTOH, I'm not looking for a specific item - just for anything
that hits my fancy. It probably takes a lower price to "hit my fancy"
than if I'm specifically looking.

2023-10-27 Thread Michael Carter via Elecraft
Hi Randy,

If memory serves me correctly, others have reported
similar gremlins with seemingly random activation
of front panel controls that were not intended. The
remedy was (1) check whether your radio has the
gold pin connectors on the front panel-to-RF board
interface, and (2) carefully clean the pins on the male header - not
by spraying, but by using contact cleaner on a cotton
swab. Re-insert the front panel to the RF board.
