Saw a article in FISTS news letter about mods for a K1, Changing USB to LSB, Does any one have comments if this works and why do it ??. [Elecraft] K1 Kit Help
I have a kit for KFL1-2 for 80 and 40 Meter for K-1. I need some one to build this for me or trade plus cash for their already build board. I want to get on the slow CW nets. I also have for sale or trade a KFL1-4 (40, 30, 20, and 15 meters ) May even thinking about selling the K1 SN 01862 and all boards ( it has a ant tuner) or trade for a CW home station around 50 watts. Hi All, I received a new 2 band ( 80 and 40M) board for my K1 and a NB. The Saga starts: I needed my eyes examined, I'm 64, and I have a lot of change in my lenses prescriptions, plus have beginning of cataracts in left eye, which is my good eye. Great to get old, LOL So ordered a new pair of glasses just for computer and kit building ( big high bifocals) and will get a good pair next year when health care buck are available. I have received from eBay a solder station and a magnifying work station light and soon will be ready to open parts packages. Their are lot of VELLEMAN HPS40 on ebay, hand held. Would this be a good first scope for a newbi, I know basic ac/dc therory and want to get i circuit design trouble shooting. Sort of a abstract question from a newbi..has any one gone through the K1 or KX1 compomet by componet and asked if this is the best capacitor/coil/resistor/crystal/transistor (with in the same price range) to optimize the transceivers ?? Hi All, I purchased a K1 some time ago on Ebay and it works fine. It has 2 Filter Boards and the antenna tuner. The two band board is 30 and 40 meters, and I want 40 and 80 meters. Whats the easyest fix ? I'm not real good with delicate work, so I need to trade or have some one make the modifications. Any suggestions .. [Elecraft] KX1 vs K1
Hi All, I'm sure this has been covered before, but for hiking and backpacking is it a choice between the KX1 and K1, is one better then the other ? Or is it a nocontest and that the KX1 is the winner because of being smaller and lighter ? What about portable antenna's - a long wire ? or is their some thing as almost simple but better ? Cheaper ?
