[Elecraft] Convert KAT 100-2 back to KAT 100-1
Hi I have obtained a KAT 100-2 , the version in an EC2, and would like to convert it back to the low height version KAT100-1 . [Elecraft] Sad News!!!
I'm writing this with tears in my eyes,my fam and I came down here to Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia for a short vacation unfortunately we were mugged at the park of the hotel where we stayed,all cash,credit card and cell were stolen off us but luckily for us we still have our passports with us. We've been to the embassy and the Police here but they're not helping issues at all and our flight leaves in less than 3hrs from now but the hotel manager won't let us leave until we settle the bills. [Elecraft] Re Steppers
Hi I have used these 4 coil steppers in a auto tuned amplifier. The really simple way is to use a BASIC Stamp with a ULN2803A motor driver chip. Have a look at page 99 of the BASIC Stamp Programming Manual 1.9 . I used steppers salvaged from a fax machine. [Elecraft] Noisy polling
Chris It is some sort of earth loop - I can't be more specific since it depends on your installation. I have heard the same when I put my headphone switcher in the same box as the controller I use for copying freq/mode between the two K2s here. [Elecraft] KIO2 not talking anymore - my findings
Hi Following my recent post here is what I found. There was no hardware problem - all checked out OK except for the TXD pin which was hi - this is not a fault as it toggles hi - lo with data and can be checked with a 'scope. Thanks to Don for the very useful info that if you have a terminal programme (Hyperterm ) running on the KIO2 and you go to the 'PORT ON' menu and then press 'DISPLAY' , the K2 sends 'FAxxx' to the port (where x...xx - 11 of them, is the freq info on VFO A) . My problem was a software problem with the logging and control programmes I run on KIO2. It seems that it is possible to write to the KIO2/K2 in such a way (FA and IF commands) that the KIO2 does not appear to function, probably something to do with timing?. Initially I was not able to reset the KIO2 by merely turning the K2 off and on. But after I used the test above the K2 reset and the KIO2 worked perfectly. So if you have this problem I would try the above first before getting the screwdriver out. [Elecraft] KIO2 just stopped talking
Hi My KIO2 has just stopped communicating. Osc is OK, neg volts -10 Volt checks look OK except for U1 Pin 5 which is 13 should be -8 U1 Pin 12 is 0 should be 5? BUT U1 pin 5 goes to the TXD line and thence to the control boards U6 pin 25, which is shown in the Manual as being at 0 normally.
