As I said before - Elecraft is outstanding.
This kind of reaction is unknown here in Germany, and
I'm confident that this will be a great solution.

Wayne, would you put me on the list of beta testers

Re: [Elecraft] How is K3 QRQ QSK performance 50-100 WPM?

2010-05-14 Thread DK4XL

it is not necessary to use special equipment to hear
the problem - if it is present. Sorry but I hear if a dot
is too short and is missing 1/1000 of a second if the
signal is strengh enough.

It is always the same discussion - only a few people can
judge about CW speed, and only these people know what's
going on in the scene - but lots of guys continue writing
how unimportant this problem must be.

For the qrq community, the knowledge that the K3 has this
QRQ CW problem (that 99% of the other transceivers have
as well), turns into a K.O. criterium. And I can't believe that
the K3 really HAS THIS problem.

I will continue to collect more skilled feedbacks on the bands.

Hi Andrew,

unfortunately I have to confirm what Steve writes.
Elecrafts service is outstanding, no question about
it - as long as you don't ask for QRQ for the internal
keyer or improvements of sign quality and qsk.

Re: [Elecraft] K3 Auto CW Speed

... and the next step would be that the K3 is looking
automatically for cw qsos in the speed you choose ?

IMHO, there are some other things to improve in the K3,
for example increasing the possible max cw speed

Re: [Elecraft] K3 needs survey: keyer speed adj

2009-12-26 Thread DK4XL

I would prefer a selectable maximum speed of the built-in
keyer which is limited to 250 cpm now. In my opinion, a
max speed range between 200 and 350 cpm would be great.
Lowest speed would not be touched, anyway.

Hi Volker,

buy the kit - it is absolutely no problem to build it,
you should of course use an ESD equipment but it's
worth to buy one. Write me a PN and we can discuss
it in german. I built two K3s, it was a lot of fun and
they work 100%.

discussing about the quality and design of the knobs of our rig.

Re: [Elecraft] About the K3 cw speed

2009-07-30 Thread DK4XL

Hi AD4C,

for you, a speed limitation at 50 wpm might be enough, for me it would
be a very nice addition to be able to key with more than 60 wpm.

And maybe you didn't see the smiley at the end of my remark. I am more
than happy with my K3, and I can easily plug in an external keyer to be
able to use this perfect cw trabsceiver in the speed range that I need.

It is nothing than a wish... and I should be allowed to have those wishes.

Now I'm pretty sure that you don't know enough from this part of the cw

Everybody takes the cw transmissions of the german ham DF4KV as computer
made -
but he uses an old Vibrokeyer to produce the by far best and fastest cw you
can imagine.

You should not judge about things you are not too deeply involved in.
