[Elecraft] Using a PK232 with the K3

[Elecraft] Is Ham Radio A Sport?

Yup.  Here is the history of the word “sport:”

 

"Sport" comes from the Old French 
  desport meaning "leisure", with 
the oldest definition in English from around 1300 being "anything humans find 
amusing or entertaining".[6]  

The Chinese term for sport, tiyu (体育; 體育) connotes physical training. The 
modern Greek term for sport is Αθλητισμός (athlitismos), directly cognate with 
the English terms "athlete" and "athleticism".

Other meanings include gambling and events staged for the purpose of gambling; 
hunting; and games and diversions, including ones that require exercise.[7] 
  Roget's defines the noun 
sport as an "activity engaged in for relaxation and amusement" with synonyms 
including diversion and recreation

The Soviet Union also had a category for “Radiosport.”

 

Actually, I don’t really care.  If you don’t want to consider it a sport, then 
don’t.  But then that’s your opinion, not the definition of the term.

[Elecraft] K3 and HRD

Disregard my last posting.  I forgot to explain what is happening.  Here is
what my message should have said:

 

I have a really odd bug going on and I don't know if it is the K3 or Ham
Radio Deluxe. Whenever I click on a spot, everything works fine except when
it happens to be any frequency in the 30s - that is 3.530 to 3.539, 7.030 to
7.039, etc.  Any other frequency in the CW band shows up on the K3 and the
mode is correctly changed to CW, except in the 30s, where it always shifts
to SSB, even though it is in the CW band.  Anyone know if that's an issue in
the K3 or in HRD? I suspect it is in HRD. Thanks.

[Elecraft] k3 and HRD

[Elecraft] P3 SVGA

The SVGA adapter for the P3 is a lot more sluggish than the P3 display
itself.  Whenever I move the tuning knob, the display flattens out at the
bottom of the screen and then recovers.  A few days ago I managed somehow to
freeze the P3 display.  When I did, the SVGA display suddenly started
working beautifully, maintaining nice displays even when I tuned and with a
lot more resolution than the P3 (which is what you want).  Unfortunately, I
managed to "fix" the frozen P3 display so now I'm back to the SVGA display
as it was before.  That suggests to me that the processor can't manage both
displays at the same time.  But whatever the cause, is there a function I
didn't realize that allows me to freeze the P3 display to improve the SVGA
display?  If so, I'd sure like to know what it is.
