I'm experiencing the same problem here in Rockville MD (also a Verizon FIOS customer), even after the DNS flush. I found a workaround though... if I use the Tor browser (https://www.torproject.org/). Tor routes your connection hopping through different countries to achieve anonymity, but a nice side effect is that elecraft.com is reached via some other providers and not through FIOS directly.
