I got a few direct emails saying the same thing. I know that you can still purchase the CM500, it just seems to be a lot rarer than it once was. A lot of places like B&H show the Yamaha CM500 out of stock or no longer available. Even Yamaha USA shows the item out of stock. One Amazon seller lists it for $109.95 + $19.95 shipping and they have a poor delivery rating. Another Amazon seller has only 1 product review and it is not available with Prime. Is the Yamaha CM500 still being manufactured? John KK9A Rick NK7I wrote: They're nothing special; you can dial in equalization just as well in the K3S. I bought the Heil with my K3 and quickly gave up on them. The Yamaha CM500 plugs into the rear (with bias) and the headphones are comfy for hours, without spending a lot (by comparison, you can get a few for the cost of one Heil). They block most of the noise in my shack. I keep a couple spares as the foam covers do wear out. If you need to block of lot of shack noise, there are other options, most are expensive. The auto tuner easily takes care of matching and as Wayne mentioned earlier compensates for all of the other variables. Just a note that the AX2 is a single band coil and can be modified for different bands. Plus it’s even a lot lower profile than the AX1. If you want to see some fun videos of using the AX1 directly attached to the KX2 search on YouTube for HB9BZG-SOTA from the Swiss Alps! >> >> >> >> -- >> This email has been checked for viruses by AVG antivirus software. >> www.avg.com >> __ >> Elecraft mailing list >> Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft >> Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm >> Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net >> >> This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this >> email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to >> n...@elecraft.com > __ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email > list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to > h...@optilink.us __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to edhop...@yahoo.com __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
