[Elecraft] QRP Power Level?

2006-07-07 Thread Kent Tannery
Can someone tell me the official definition of QRP Power Level? Is it 5
watts for voice and CW modes? I notice that many contests have a QRP class but
they do not define QRP power and I cannot find it on ARRL site. Thanks,
  Kent

[Elecraft] Re: Transverter with Common IF

2006-01-17 Thread Kent Tannery
I am now curious if the Y RCA cable connector on the K2's Transverter option
will also work for the menu setting of High Power on the Transverter (H0.1 -
H12.7 watts) or does this only apply for the Low Power setting of milliwatts?

True enough, Don. Thanks for mentioning this.

Of course the external Y cable has the advantage of being quickly
removed if one wanted to use a different transverter.

A short jumper wire across the connector wiring points on the K60XV
 board
would do the same as the Y adapter and be just as easy - one less
 connector
point to cause future problems IMHO.

[Elecraft] Transverter with Common IF

2006-01-16 Thread Kent Tannery
I am trying to use my K2/100 (K60XV transverter interface installed) with a
Down East Microwave 900mhz transverter which has only a common IF (not a TX
IF and RX IF). The transverter requires low power IF around 0.10 miliwatts.
(Transmitting has been tested and works fine)

The problem is that the DEMI transverter has a common IF and the K2 has
seperate TX and RX IFs. I phoned Elecraft today and they suggested trying to
modify the transverter to pull the RX IF seperately.

Anyone have any other solutions or ideas?
