Re: [Elecraft] FSK problem with my K3
Wayne, Thanks for the 2.81 revision, I will load it tonight. I loaded up windows xp and ran ran mmtty using fsk to the K3 and receiving good print on my K2. The problem is the pseudofsk output in fldigi!Has to be bad data being generated within the program. The diddle does not sound right. Don, I had a good 4 volts out of the doubler circuit more than adequate for the 'keying' transistor. Thanks to both you and Don for your help. I will use ASFK until Dave provides a fix for fldigi. [Elecraft] FSK problem with my K3
Hi all, First of all, I prefer to use FSK instead of AFSK. ASFK works fine. My problem is that I have the wrong polarity coming out of my rtty program (fldigi under linux). It is hooked up to pin 1 of the ACC 15 pin connector. It is changing polarity fine (looking at it with my oscope. How can I invert it in the K3? I tried the CONFIG param FSK POL and that does not do it. I read an email on the archives saying that the config item FSK POL does not work. If that is the case, when will it be fixed? I have the latest code 2.78. On the air I get no print from other hams. As a test I use my K2 with another pc to check and ASFK is fine by garbage with FSK. I just posed the following message to the reflector 5 minutes ago.. Has anyone beside me noticed that this email reflector has really going down the tubes since the introduction by Elecraft of the K3. Before the K3 this list had good info, but now!!! I usually hit the delete key as soon as the Elecraft reflector email comes up. - and I just receive this email, but not to the list, directly to me. -- So, what are you trying to say, Jerry? What's supposed to happen as a result of your posting? Obviously you're terribly unhappy about the list. Wouldn't it logical for you to just unsubscribe if it's so very annoying? There are several ways you can deal with it, but by your posting your complaint you're part of the problem ... if there is even a problem to start with. The K3-related postings are just as important as the K2 postings. K0PP K2 #5665 K3 #56 - NEED I SAY MORE . THIS REFLECTOR IS GOING DOWN HILL VERY FAST. NOT VERY NICE PEOPLE HERE, AS YOU CAN SEE. RE: [Elecraft] K2/100 Power Calibration questiion
Thanks to Don and Ron or their responses and everyone else also. I used my scope with the 10x probes and measured the peak to peak reading from a tee connection going to the dummy load. Squared that and divided by 400 to get the power out, can't get too more accurate than that. Now the K2 putts out 100 on all bands and only drops abt 3 watts on 10 meters, not bad. Of course, my external wattmeter on the tuner was 20 higher at 100 watts, 15 watts higher at 50 watts and about 9 watts higher at 10 watts out, so much for that power meter. To make sure my scope is calibrated I measure a brand new (in a pack) AA battery with my Fluke DVM and use that to make sure the scope is right on, so I am fairly confident about the scope calibration. Everything is all fine and finished and I even made a few contacts last night at 40 watts. Love my K2. Jerry, n2uz snip.. The power drops from 102w at 80 meters to 79w on 10meters, is this normal? I also measured with a textronix scope at 50w on 80 meters and read 124v p-p using a precison dummy load , giving me 39 watts out. Should I use the scope to do the adjustments? ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Subscriber Info (Addr. [Elecraft] RE: Raspy sound on CW
Thanks for the replies I received. RFC15 was the culprit, it was open. Ot had to happend when I installed it as this was the first time I used CW. I replaced it with a 120uh that I had in my parts box. Don't understand why it was ok on the other receiver when I hit TUNE and ssb and all digital modes were ok, but I am glad it;s working now. I will call Elecraft and see if I can get another one. [Elecraft] K2 - Rsspy sound on CW
Happy New Year everyone, I have been using my K2, #4472, for quite a while on the digital bands and all ok. I have been building up my code before I tried it with CW and just today I made my first CW contact with it. I got a report of it sounding very raspy, so I monitored it with another rig and sure enough the CW sound horrible and raspy is a good word for it.. Does anyone have any suggestions, maybe just a menu option, etc. before I start digging into it. Re: [Elecraft] Is it possible to monitor digital, transmissions.
Jess (AE0CW), Thanks for your reply and offer for the cable, but I allready have my interface hooked up and working. Doug (N7BNT), I have the PSKMETER and it's a great tool for PSK. I use it also to set up the audio level for rtty, and the other digital modes. What I mean is that my Yaesu MP rig has a transmit monitor build in, so that while I am transmitting rtty, psk, cw or voice, I am able to hear it on the MP's speaker. I wanted to know if the K2 had that same feature. What I have done to listen to what I am sending is to put a "Y" connector on the Speaker out on the PC and 1 side goes to interface and then on to the mic audio in on the K2. The other side of the "Y" goes to my PC speaker. This works, but the sound was terrible, mostly hum. I since changed to a better PC speaker and it seems ok now. When I run my MP I turn my PC speakers off, just wanted to do the same with the K2.
