[Elecraft] P3 Panadapter while transmitting
I have a K3 with the P3 Panadapter and I notice that if my ESSB is OFF and I transmit and then turn on the P3 I can monitor my audio bandwidth at the correct center frequency. Audio playback works great for this - giving me plenty of time to re-boot the P3 during the K3's transmit. However if I enable ESSB this is no longer the case. The signal is no longer where it should be - does anyone know why? It would be nice if the experts at Elecraft could work into the K3/P3 firmware so that we could monitor the transmit audio instead of the P3 just freezing!!! [Elecraft] ESSB and FM Filter selection for AM Transmit
Wayne, When I enable the FM filter for AM Transmit I get a "ERR TXF" indication when trying to transmit on SSB with ESSB enabled. Will there be a fix for this? I too now have this problem on my K3 with the K144XV installed using Beta 4.58. My problem: Entering any 2m- QRG, e.g. 144.300 by pushing on the front panel "FREQ ENT" 1 4 4 . 3 0 0 "ENTER (AFX)" results in changing the K3 to 180.300 MHz e.g. 145.525 results in 181.525 MHz ... Always exactly 36 MHz too much! Also when entering QRGs by my contesting software via RS232... The only way to activate 2m is using the bandswitch-button - then my K3 starts with 144.000 MHz. Any changing between HF-Bands is correct. [Elecraft] ERR TXF Error during ESSB transmissions
"We allow the FM filter to be use for AM transmit, now, but not for ESSB transmit. The filter is too wide for this purpose. 73, Wayne N6KR" OK but this is not my problem. If I have the FM filter enabled for AM transmit then ESSB transmission gives me a "ERR TXF" error when trying to transmit on SSB. Seems like the firmware needs to now know that it has to use the 6KHz AM filter and not the wider FM filter when enabling ESSB for SSB transmissions??? Finally decided to sell my Kenwood TS-2000 for a new K3! In less then 2 hours my TS-2000 was sold. Received the K3 yesterday (kit version) and completed it today. Sounds great but still need a mic and will have one tomorrow. KPA3 is working fine.love the quality of the audio when receiving. [Elecraft] K3 Squelch
Hello K3 Users, I am trying to figure out how to set up the squelch and currently have SQ MAIN = Sub Pot. When I rotate the RF/ SQL SUB dial I get a "SQL N/A" message that pops up and goes away. Any idea why this is coming up and the squelch does not work??? [Elecraft] PSK D Mode and random characters in received window...
Hello K3 users, I am using PSK D Mode on my K3 along with the K3's Utilities Terminal Program and have a few questions: Threshold does not seem to work in "TEXT DEC". I still get many characters coming thru in the Terminal Program's receive window. I have tried a "thr 30" and it doesn't even seem to make any difference! Also noticed that if I use squelch the characters are still coming thru even though the receiver's speaker is muted! Is this normal? Any idea how to stop these random noise characters from showing up when no one is transmitting a PSK signal? I still need some more roofing filters in my K3. Currently I only have the 2.8KHz 8-pole filter and am narrowing the bandwidth using the DSP. [Elecraft] K3 DVR AF Play over air...
Can anyone tell me how you can playback the K3's DVR AF Play file over the air? Also when using AF REC and recording a short received clip of audio and then going to play it back there is a large empty spot (after playing it) and it eventually plays a previous audio clip following the one that was just recorded. Is this the way it's supposed to work? I am not able to record in all the bank memories. Bank 1 memories 1 and 2 are used and I am not able to record in 3 and 4 even though I have tried to record 15 second messages.when I go to play them back it just shows "END"! Do the bank memories have there own memory separate from the AF RECORD memory? If you record 90 seconds of REC memory does it "use up" bank memory??? Well my KDVR3 was working tonight for a short while but now it is not again. For some reason only M1 and M2 are working in BANK 1 and BANK 2 doesn't work again at all! [Elecraft] K3 Transmitter Gain Cal Failure at 1mW with KXV3a
Hello K3 Support, I installed the KXV3a tonight into my K3 and when I went to do the Gain Calibration it failed on 6 Meters as it was unable to get the required output. Any idea why this output could be low on this band (I believe it only reached an 8 out of the expected 10)? Alan, I just loaded the P3 Utility on my Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium. When doing a capture using the utility the capture is shown split in two with the reference numbers in the middle! The bottom portion of the capture/ screen is also corrupted. Is this part of the same bug or a different one? Also any idea when this will be fixed? It is solid core with no flux. I would not use it. contains silver, tin, and lead...but no flux. You want Rosin flux. [Elecraft] Receive distortion on my K3 when using the internal K144XV
I have had the K144XV module installed in my K3 for about 2 years now and have noticed distortion from a local repeater that does not seem to exist on my Yaesu VX-2 handheld! If I place my HT on the frequency and transmit that too is distorted:( Also the "AF REC" function does not play back the recorded audio and has never worked correctly when using the K144XV module. Is this a known problem? Does anyone have any ideas what could be the cause of these problems? [Elecraft] XV144 Transverter 1.05 KHz off
I just built the XV144 Tranverter and discovered that it is 1.05 KHz off when receiving and transmitting. I am using it with a K2/100/K60XV and don't think I did anything wrong. Does anyone know why it is off by this amount? Any help would be appreciated.
