Re: [Elecraft] [K3] K3 K3DSPUPGD Installation info?
Terry, I used the Front Panel Microphone Circuit Modification instructions from the Elecraft mods page. That explains the disassembly and assembly of the front panel and DSP board very well. Is it not available until you actually order and receive the upgrade board? If it IS available as a download, I'd like to review it before ordering. Can anyone please help point me toward the installation instructions? Happy New Year! Re: [Elecraft] [K3] KUSB+Logger32
Mike, I have been using Logger32 for about 10 years and have had virtually no issues. I currently have 3 USB to serial adapters running on my PC, one for the Yaesu and two connected to the K-3, one for reading the data from the radio into Logger32, the other for the Logger32 CW keyer. At this moment CPU usage is running 2-7% with both Logger32 running and LP-Bridge running. PC is running XP and is a dual core Intel machine. Hope this helps. Mike -N5WNG Mike Harris-9 wrote: G'day, Tried using my KUSB today. Loaded latest driver and all communicates well between K3 Utility and K3. I modified the power on banner OK. Changed the com port in Logger32 to the same and after the first read of frequency Logger32 freezes and needs the three finger salute. CPU seems to be running at 100% K3+RS232+Logger32 can be running OK. Change over to KUSB, change the com port in Logger32 and it freezes. KUSB plugged into any USB port on the PC not via a hub. Changed the port speed for both K3 and KUSB from 38400 to 9600 no change. Anyone else seen this? Re: [Elecraft] [K3] K3 3.04 Power Output After Tune
I updated the firmware to 3.04 last night. Today, after I tune, I get no or low power out indicated on the RF meter in SSB. Keying down momentarily restores power in SSB. Are others experiencing this? Jim W6VAR K3 1644 S/N 1749 with 3.04. There is definitely something strange with the power output. I turned off the radio last night, powered up this morning, retuned (used tune) the amp for 20 mtrs and was seeing 600w out. After several contest contacts I noticed the atu was still in line and switched it out. Next SSB transmission showed power was about 90 watts from the amplifier. Turned K3 power up from 20 watts drive to 30 and amplifier output was about 300 watts. Amp is ACOM 1000.
