[Elecraft] NAQCC Sprint Tuesday night!
NAQCC Sprint Tuesday night! Our June sprint is coming up next Tuesday evening June 11th local USA time, which as everyone should know converts to Wednesday 0030 to 0230Z. After last month, we're back on schedule with our alternating 2nd Tuesday / 3rd Wednesday schedule in even / odd numbered months. As you know last month we changed weeks because of the Dayton Hamvention. We need to get back on track this month and shoot past the 100 logs mark again. A lot of hams like to operate portable, and June would be a great month to put in a portable operation in our sprint with the warm weather and very late sunsets here in the eastern USA. It's also a vacation month, and you might like to take an hour or two off from the hectic vacation pace and relax in our sprint. They are relaxing with their laid-back non-frantic activity which we emphasize and encourage. Our goal is for you to participate and not particularly vie for those big scores. Of course if you do prefer scores with your participating, that's perfectly OK, and we have certificates for you if that is what you are after. I think that gives you enough reasons to be there next Tuesday evening. Our June sprint is this coming Tuesday evening local time (June 11, EDT - 8:30-10:30PM, CDT - 7:30-9:30PM, MDT - 6:30-8:30PM, PDT - 5:30-7:30PM), which translates as Wednesday June 12, 0030Z to 0230Z in all cases. I will refer you to the proper URL: http://naqcc.info/sprint201306.html There you will find all the details as to time, frequencies and other important information. Certificates: SWA (simple wire antennas) certificates by call area, VE and DX for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers (New!). A Certificate for top score in the GAIN antenna category. Prizes: Too many to list!! - check out the prize page on our website. Oh, and we're adding something this month for those who do emphasize scoring. A certificate to the overall high-scorer who uses a bug, and one to the high scorer using anything other than a straight key or bug. We are doing that to help those who may be physically unable to use a straight key (or bug) for whatever reason. We will be incorporating that info into our rules soon. This is a monthly event that caters to the CW veteran, the CW newcomer, straight key and bug fans. All are welcome to participate (this includes QRO); but you must use QRP power levels to compete for awards. If you've been hesitant to join in our sprints because you hear other sprints running at breakneck speeds, have no fear. Our sprints are geared to the newcomer to CW and/or contesting. [Elecraft] NAQCC Sprint Wednesday night!
NAQCC Sprint Wednesday night! Last May we had one of only two sprints with under 100 logs submitted in the past three years. That was due to many members heading off to the Dayton Hamfest. So this year to avoid that, we are having our May sprint the week before Dayton as we hope to continue our long run of 100+ logs sprints to show the ham radio world CW is alive and well - and actually growing. That means our May sprint will be on a second Wednesday instead of a third Wednesday. Our May sprint is this coming Wednesday evening local time (May 8, EDT - 8:30-10:30PM, CDT - 7:30-9:30PM, MDT - 6:30-8:30PM, PDT - 5:30-7:30PM), which translates as Thursday May 9, 0030Z to 0230Z in all cases. NAQCC Sprint Tuesday night! Our December sprint is this coming Tuesday evening local time (December 11, EST - 8:30-10:30PM, CST - 7:30-9:30PM, MST - 6:30-8:30PM, PST - 5:30-7:30PM), which translates as Wednesday December 12, 0130-0330Z in all cases. Certificates: SWA (simple wire antennas) certificates by call area, VE and DX for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers (New!). A Certificate for top score in the GAIN antenna category. Prizes: Too many to list!! - We're making a change in our prize drawing for the sprints. Here's a quote from the prizes page, under the main section, on the web site: "Beginning with the November 2012 sprint, a winner will be notified as soon as one is chosen. Then the first to reply gets the first choice of a prize. Before that we went by order of sprints. In other words, the June winner had to wait for the May winner to make his choice, etc. Now it's first response, first choice no matter what month. That way those who take forever to answer won't hold up those who are eager to get their prize. If someone doesn't reply at all by the end of the following month, there will be a re-drawing to choose a replacement winner for that sprint, and the one who didn't reply becomes ineligible for any future drawings. For example, the June winner has until the end of July to respond." This is a monthly event that caters to the CW veteran, the CW newcomer, straight key and bug fans. All are welcome to participate (this includes QRO); but you must use QRP power levels to compete for awards. If you are not already a member of NAQCC... membership is FREE! [Elecraft] NAQCC 8th Anniversary
This coming week of October 7 through the 13th is a very special one for the North American QRP CW Club (NAQCC). That week we celebrate the 8th anniversary of the founding of the club by Tom KB3LFC (now WY3H) - President, and John K3WWP - Vice-President. We will have 10 special event stations on the air that week - one from each USA call area - with the calls N1A, N2A, N3A, N4A, N5A, N6A, N7A, N8A, N9A, N0A. The 40 operators of the calls will post their operating schedule at http://naqcc.info/n3a_complete_schedule.php so you will know when and where to look for them as you participate in our celebration. We are offering special QSL cards and Certificates for anyone who works one or more of our special event stations. To find out how you may obtain one and/or the other, check the information contained on the page at http://naqcc.info/main_n3a.html. You must follow the informatin there EXACTLY or your request may not be fulfilled. The operation commences at Z October 7 and continues through 2359Z October 13. That is the week of our monthly sprint with which many of you reading this may already be familiar. However this month's sprint is something special as all 10 of our special event calls will be active for the full two hours. There may be some sort of award or prize to the one working the most different calls. This should make our already extremely popular sprints even more popular than usual when we normally get 175-200 participants, of whom 110-130 or so will submit logs. The sprint is Tuesday evening October 9 at 8:30-10:30 PM EDT which converts to the more familiar Wednesday October 10 from 0030-0230Z. Hope to see you there as well as at other times during anniversary week. * John K3WWP - 100% CW / QRP - Proudly promoting Morse Code: * * As NAQCC VP - # 0002 FC # 1 - http://naqcc.info/ * * As FISTS Keynote QRP Columnist - # 2002 - http://www.fists.org/ * * With my CW-QRP site - http://home.windstream.net/johnshan/ on behalf of all our 40 special event station operators with thanks to Dave VA3RJ for distributing this information to his wealth of sources. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

The European Sprints bring the fun and excitement of the US sprints to those unable to take part due to the barriers of distance and time zone. Most of the rules for the US sprints apply, the main difference being the time at which they are held. For more details (including times, exchange and frequency) please see the rules on the website: http://naqcc-eu.org/ Those outside of Europe are also very welcome to participate. [Elecraft] NAQCC Special Event Station N3A
We invite all ops to come help the North American QRP CW Club (NAQCC) celebrate its Fourth Anniversary. How? By working our special event station N3A which will be active during the whole month of October. A handsome certificate and/or QSL card is available to everyone who works N3A and requests one or both. We also have 3 special certificates for the FISTS members who make the most different band QSO's with our N3A stations during the month and in the FISTS and NAQCC sprints. N3A will be operated from all 10 US call areas with the appropriate portable designator - N3A/1, N3A/2N3A/0. All 10 calls will be active in the FISTS sprint on the 11th and our NAQCC sprint on the 14th (15th UTC). Full details including an operating schedule and how to request the certificate and QSL are on the "N3A Operation" page on the club web site - search "NAQCC" in your favorite search engine, or follow this link to our website (www.arm-tek.net/~yoel/main_n3a.html).
