[Elecraft] Pacificon Interview
Over Saturday and Sunday at Pacificon I interviewed some well known members of the ham community (Elecraft). I asked them questions that they've never been asked before (in their lives) and got some interesting answers. If you enjoy the video, please share it with your ham clubs and friends, http://youtu.be/LPz7KShvtVM 73 Rem K6BBQ __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

[Elecraft] K3 & K1 in FYBO video
My 2012 FYBO video is finally online. It has both Bill, KF6RMK and myself K6BBQ operating portable. Usually I don't post my video announcements here since there isn't an Elecraft radio in them. Since there are Elecraft radios in this video, I thought it would be a good place to share the portable operating fun (a K1 and a K3 appear in the video). You can watch it here - http://youtu.be/xFKETtrC_JE If you enjoy the video, please share the link with your friends and ham clubs. If you subscribe to my YouTube channel you will get a message as soon as one of my videos is posted online. 73 Rem K6BBQ __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Elecraft] KX3 Mobile Mount Bracket
I haven't seen the KXMM3 mobile mount bracket listed on the order page yet. I have called RAM Mounts (GPS City handling their West Coast inquiries). Looking at the drawing of the KX3 bracket one of their people wanted me to use a RAM connector terminating with a ball mount to fasten to the KX3 mount. That seems like it would need a wedge to fasten to it not a ball. I need to get the KX3 mounting compatibility squared away so I can do HF tricycle mobile, before buying a KX3. Anyone who has seen my trike mobile videos knows that I use a RAM Mount on a gooseneck to hold the control head of my FT-857D. I want to do this with the KX3. I am not in a hurry about the amp as I figure whenever the amp comes out, I can always run wires along the tricycle frame to a bike trunk that holds the amp and battery. At least I hope I can. [Elecraft] K3, Prolific USB driver and OS X 10.7
I searched the Nabble archives for an answer to this and couldn't find one. After a long time since an update I connected the USB to serial cable today and launched the K3 Utility. I double checked and I have the latest version of that. The K3 Utility didn't recognize the K3. I tried numerous times and the only thing that changed since the last update is that I've gone from OS Snow Leopard to the new version OS Lion 10.7. Has anyone else had any problems? I couldn't see what version of the Prolific driver I was running so I downloaded the one on the Elecraft website. The instructions with the downloaded driver say to go into Terminal and then the library to delete the old version. In Terminal I wasn't able to get it to find that file... Says I need to be in Root. Following info found online, that didn't help. Any suggestions? [Elecraft] FYBO reminder and FYBO trailer
Hello Elecrafters from a happy K3 owner. This is Rem, K6BBQ. Maybe you have seen my QRP portable and tricycle mobile videos on YouTube. I have made a one minute trailer to promote the 2012 FYBO QRP contest on February 4th and to also let people know that afterwards I will have a video about my FYBO portable operation next month. [Elecraft] K3 in the California QSO Party
Here is a video I made last weekend when camping up in the rare Colusa County to participate in the California QSO Party. The K3 was at five watts and the antenna was a Carolina Windom about 50 feet up. It was a good time and the K3 performed great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZkv_c3riqk&feature=colike Rem K6BBQ __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
