Re: [Elecraft] Elecraft customer service

2018-03-28 Thread Rick McGaver
Oh Yes, many could learn about customer service from Elecraft.
I had a situation where I was ordering some parts off the internet,
Sounds so- easy. Not for me! My love for computers is limited.
Anyway, I tried ordering and ended up with 3 orders and nothing working.
I then said screw it. Five minutes later I get this call from Michelle and she
asked me if I was having problems. Being mild as I am and ready to blow she
said “let me help You, this is easy to fix”. 5 minutes later I was done off
the phone and I said to my wife.
That is unbelievable service, and calm help on the other end.
Thanks Michelle or who ever it was!
Outstanding.

I purchased a pair of KOSS SB-40's. A local DX'er and K3'er, K9GS
recommended these. He brought them over at one of our meetings and I gave
them a whirl and liked them so I bought my own. I personally like them as my
hearing is not the best and the boom mic gets good reports as I work mostly
DX. And they have a Lifetime Warranty!
I give them a look...

I use some $30 skull candy ear buds with my KX3 for receiving only and they
work great. Very sensitive. I would use them with the K3 but I like having
the microphone built in so I am using a Yamaha MDE-100 and they work great.
Very light on my head and as one person mentioned about another similar
Yamaha headset you will forget they are on and I have almost pulled my K3
from my desk many times.

I have both the Heil proset 4 5 and because of ear pain have almost
completely transitioned to the Yamaha headset.

I have 2 of Tony's paddles. The vertical ZN-3A and a custom ZN-5H with a
heavier base. I needed that because of lack of feeling in hand. These are
EXCELLENT KEYS to say the least. I have no ties to Tony just a very
satisfied customer.
I have reviews on eham of my keys.

I wasn't aware of Tony's paddles until a friend mentioned them to me.
Now I have a ZN-V vertical paddle on order that should be here around
 the end of next month.

My favorite paddles to date is one based on the original Mercury paddle
that I bought at Pacificon around 2000. This new one could give it a run
 for its money.

I just received an N3ZN single lever paddle (ZNSLR) - what a great piece
of workmanship - Thank you Tony.
It weighs in at about 5 pounds, so there is no problem with it moving,
but it is not something that works nicely for portable operation.

Good choice Don! The ZN-SLR is *BY FAR* the best single-lever paddle
 I've
ever used (including Vibroplex, Bencher, Kent, Begali, etc). My problem
 is
that I'm so spoiled by it that I'm even willing to lug it around on
 portable
 operations like the recent QRPTTF:
