[Elecraft] Looking for a KPA100
With all the understandable hoopla over the new KXPA100, I'm wondering if someone might have a KPA100 in a separate K2 cabinet that's become excess baggage and gathering dust? Even though QRP is my preference, I've decided it'd be nice to have a KPA100 in a separate K2 matching cabinet for those times when the other station isn't capable of or is unwilling to dig out my QRP signal. If you have a KPA100 you'd like to part company with, please contact me by e-mail at hotrod...@suddenlink.net. 73, Rod K5BGB Licensed June 1955 as KN5BGB __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com

Re: [Elecraft] New Elecraft Message Board?
I second that, Bill. Leave well enough alone! Cheers, Rod K5BGB Bill Tippett <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: G4ILO: >The list archives would be an excellent tool for those who just want to follow specific threads of interest, but they waste way to much space displaying completely irrelevant header information, so you have to scroll down to read the actual text, and there is no easy way to send an in-context reply to a post. I beg to differ on your last sentence above and cite this post as an example of doing what you want. It's extremely simple to do but requires you to do more than simply hit reply. All of the features mentioned (sorting by thread, web-based presentations, etc) are completely possible within the present structure. You just have to take the time and effort to learn to do it! Leave it alone. Let those who want to change it spend 5 minutes learning how to do what they need (below). 73, Bill W4ZV P.S. Re: [Elecraft] Santa Cruz Sentinel article on Elecraft
You have to be very careful what the media writes. Just ask the editors at Newsweek. ;-) Cheers, Rod K5BGB "Eric Swartz - WA6HHQ, Elecraft" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Hi John, That was more of a general statement and not meant to be specific :-) . Re: [Elecraft] More Clarifications on the Tonight Show - from K6CTW
Outstanding, Ken! When I wrote Chip yesterday, I asked him if those were K2s the two of you were using. ;-)) Cheers, Rod K5BGB - Original Message - From: "Ken Miller, K6CTW" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Sunday, May 15, 2005 12:14 PM Subject: [Elecraft] More Clarifications on the Tonight Show - from K6CTW *A few more points for clarification: When my XYL, Connie, originally answered the call, at my home, from the producers of the show, she explained that I operated both codes and that I considered myself to be a good but not exceptional operator. However, she is the one who "sold" the producers that the skit could work. She also did a VERY credible job of explaining Morse telegraphy and the radio code and its uses. (You all might think to send her a thanks too as without her, this would never have happened [EMAIL PROTECTED] ) When they contacted me later that afternoon, I explained that my wife was correct, I am a competent CW and Morse operator. Your point is interesting in that they did try and get the fastest text messengers they could fly in. I did however explain that if the Tonight Show folks had been able to get the equivalent world record holder in CW to do this, it would have been at almost TRIPLE the speed we were going at. The reason, as I have explained before, that we worked at about 28 or so wpm is that this is the fastest speed that I can make nice readable copy with a pencil as they did not have the ability to let me use a typewriter for copy (and I thought they were going to do a camera shot of my copy for verification). Also, since we did not have the time to set up headphones, I just added some extra volume for me, had the stage folks cut my mike (to prevent feedback and overload) and copied off of the speaker. To re-emphasize the point, I'm just an average CW op who occasionally operates the CW SS QRP, whith my K2 of course, and really enjoys CW, and traffic handling. By the way, the radios used were Chip's not from Yaesu and the backup radios were from HRO. 73, Ken, K6CTW * ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
