[Elecraft] Re: Help with noise on 40m

2007-09-07 Thread Scott Holisky
Zac -
That sound just like a touch lamp. Bet if you listen to it over a few
days you can hear it move in frequency as the temperature changes. My neighbor
has a few, your recordings sound the same. I agree with Don, it's got to be
close!

GL, now you know what to get them for Christmas!

Zac,

I have no idea what could be causing that noise, but it certainly sounds
like it is frequency dependent (you were tuning during the recording
were you not?) and from the intensity, I would judge it to be a local
source.

Re: [Elecraft] K2 Key shaping (hard?)

2007-04-23 Thread Scott Holisky
I heard the hard keying effect on 40 meters last night. Kevin KD5ONS's K2
sounded like he was running my old Conar transmitter. It was propagation
related. Several stations sounded hard as I tuned across the band. With some
signals showing a slight aura wobble. I also observed the effect coming and
going on signals. Weird stuff.

So don't dig into your rig quite yet!

[Elecraft] K2 #4866 on the air

2005-04-25 Thread Scott Holisky
Had my first qso with the new rig last night. Worked like a champ! I'm
a happy camper. No issues, alignment went exceptionally smooth. Nothing
but good to say about the whole experience.

In the for what it worth department, this is my second K2. Several
radios later I finally decided that it was time to return to the fold.
So I'm back!
