[Elecraft] Ordering form PA

2005-09-02 Thread Sjoerd PE2SVN
Hello all,

I am seriously considering ordering a K2, but before i do that i would like
to know what the 'extra costs' are before the kit is in my shack.

I think 19% tax , but are there more costs??

Tnx in advance..

RE: [Elecraft] Re: Ordering form PA (AND UK!)

2005-09-06 Thread Sjoerd PE2SVN
Hello all again,

As starter of this thread I would like to thank you all for reactions,

I fully agree with Simon about UPS.
I ordered my K2 last Friday, shipping via UPS, and hoped my new toy would be
delivered within a week or 2...

Yesterday (Monday) I came home from work, turned on my PC to see if there is
some sort of order confirmation.. triiing UPS at the front door with a
package! Wow that was FAST... My K2 arrived and by paying BTW (tax, no
import duties) I was ready to start building in 37 hours after ordering!

K2 # 5095 is work in progress at the moment!

73 to all!

My experience is that the best carrier to use is UPS. Of those I have used
UPS has always performed flawlessly with international purchases (not -
Switzerland is not in the EU - so everything I buy goes through customs). If

the parcel is correctly marked I can rely on UPS for efficiency, promptness
and above all courtesy.

UPS may be a tad more expensive but it's well worth it.

[Elecraft] #5095 alive ;160m CAL PLL question

2005-09-12 Thread Sjoerd PE2SVN
Hello all,

First of all: My K2 is alive :-)

Second:
I installed the K160RX as the 'finishing touch' and went through the
instructions in the manual.
When trying to Calibrate the PLL for 160m my K2 said Info 232, which means I
have to
tune to 40m before Cal PLL. In the manual I see nothing about tuning to
7MHz.

Do I have to Cal PLL on 40m? will it 'see' that there is also a 160m kit
installed?
Or is this because I have made a mistake??

Tnx in advance,

Sjoerd
