[Elecraft] Re: KX-1 build complete, 20m reception problems

2007-09-09 Thread Steven Reed
Just a quick follow-up on this issue. A BIG thank-you to Don at Elecraft
for the super support. As it turns out, there really wasn't anything
wrong with my KX-1, it just needed a proper alignment with the XG-2
oscillator and a MDS test. 20m is a little quieter than the other bands,
but that appears to be mostly due to band conditions and my ears. The MDS
test came out at at least -122dBm for 20, which is acceptable.

Kudos to Elecraft for the great support and setting me straight on this.

73, Steve.

I just finished the construction of my KX-1, including the 30/80 meter
module and the antenna tuner. The rig works fantastic except for one
problem: the reception on 20 meters is notably attenuated. All the other
bands scream. When I switch to 20 meters, the receive sensitivity seems
to drop by at least half!

Suggestions, anyone?

Thanks,

Steve, WB4EZM
