Re: [Elecraft] OT: Australian fires
Hi Wayne Thanks for thinking of us. A horrendous situation and at the worst possible time with so many people on their summer holidays in the most fire prone areas. We have a team of US / Canadian firefighters here that came over before Christmas to bring their expertise to the fight. And Aussies were in California and Canada during your fire season. Wonderful to see how we can help each other in trying times. Re: [Elecraft] A New Choke Book - Some Questions
Hi Jim, Thanks. I don't know how I missed the section "Chokes in Series"! I really appreciate the extensive work you did to build and measure all the chokes. You are making a difference to small suburban stations like mine that live in a sea of noise. Re: [Elecraft] [K3-KPA500] SWR jumps up with 5 second key down
All, I think I've finally found the cause of my problem. The PVC spacer that goes around the driven element where it is attached to the boom plate has a cut down one side to to allow it to compress when tightened with a u-bolt. What I could not notice until I totally dismantled the element was that the split was full of carbon as was the mounting plate along the length of the split. I am assuming that the split which was facing up filled up with water and helped create an arc between the driven element and mounting plate. Re: [Elecraft] K2 SSB audio problem
Hi George, I have a similar set-up, having added the KPA500 two or so weeks ago. Recently a local ham using an SDR as a spectrum analyser notied that I have a lot of splatter on my signal. The KPA500 is locted about 8 inches above the K2 and KPA100. I have not fittted the VCO Shield. Thanks to your email I now have another possible cause to investigate. - Cheers Mike VK1OO (ex AC7MZ, VK1KCK) K2: 2599 -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/K2-SSB-audio-problem-tp7564435p7564449.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
