[Elecraft] Would a matching speaker be nice??
I wonder if Elecraft might consider offering a nice, matching, external speaker for the K2/3 line?. It's nice to have the audio coming straight out in front of you not bouncing out from the top cover. I have always owned the matching speaker for any of the rigs I've owned over the past 45 years. [Elecraft] Delay in RF/Audio output on my K3
I've started to notice when I first turn on my K3/100 (#6131). there appears to be a delay in reaching full RF output. I start calling a station and notice almost no RF or audio but after a minute or so, the power is full scale and the Audio level is working fine. Any suggestion why this may be happening?? I have several microphones and it happens with all of them. It does not happen on CW.. Just SSB. [Elecraft] k3/100 #6131 is on the air!
Just got home from a long weekend away and connected the K3/100 to my computer. Everything went as planned except I couldn't get the radio to enable the 100 watt PA. After a close look, I realized I pinched one of the wires that connects to the circuit breaker between the PA board chassis. After correcting my mistake, I was able to get the PA to work. I've played around with the audio a bit. I ordered the MH2 hand microphone to take to Barbados in 9 days. It really sounds good. I have an old Astatic DN86 on a G Stand I'm going to hook up. Can anyone suggest a good base microphone?? I'm very pleased to have selected the K3. [Elecraft] K3/100 kit #6131 Has arrived
My K3/100 Kit arrived yesterday. I spent several hours going over everything. I started the assembly and after 4 hours I'm up to page 44. So far so good.. I'm really impressed with the quality and how everything has gone together. The parts are really sorted well and the instructions are a pleasure to follow. I'm going to spend a little while on it this afternoon. I look forward to getting on the air with it. The serial number is 6131. [Elecraft] Assembly of K3/100 #6131 is complete
Just wrapped up assembly of my K3. I did the basic calibration and so far so good. I'll take a brake tonight and wrap it up in the morning. Kind of fun working with the small hardware when your almost 64..My eyes aren't what they used to be.. Everything went as it should have. It sure looks like a great piece of gear. Good morning everyone, I first want to thank everyone who responded to my e-mail on how long it takes to assemble a K3. You were all very helpful. My K3/100 kit just arrived. It's serial number 6131. I just spent the past hour going over the assembly manual. Everything looks straight forward. I'm going to un-pack every thing and give it an inventory. I must say, I'm really impressed with the great packing job. I'm in no rush to get it assembled. I will take my time and double check everything. I've waited a long time for a radio like this and look forward to joing the club of K3 users. The radio will get it's first test the week of jan 18th from Barbados. Look for 8P9AP on both phone CW.
