[Elecraft] reflector
Does anyone know a good way to read the digests from this reflector. I do not want to receive 50 emails a day to get 2 or 3 that are of interest to me. The K3 digest is getting ignored here because of all the repeat information I have to wade through. Phil The KUSB is just a USB to RS-232. They nailed me for $40 for one because I thought it was a special one for the K3. It didn't work. I later found one for under $10 that works fine. Don't buy it. Elecraft have some wonderful products and accessories. I thought my microKEYER was guilty of RFI but it turned out that the audio patch cables for line in and line out had a less than 10% shield. I temporarily solved the problem with ferrite but a more permenant solution will be RG-58au. Then I lost microphone audio and just got a buzz. I removed the RJ-45 connector from the back of the MK and plugged it back in. Problem gone. I already have that document on my computer and it is impressive to say the least and I really am going to read it someday however I don't see myself launching into an exhaustive research project when I can make the problem go away easily. [Elecraft] K3 bottom cover screw spinning in place
Hi Mark, I had that problem too. Just take the top cover off and you will see a screw just ahead of the PA box in the center of the rig. Remove it and then the bottom will come off. Both of those screws go into a stand off. Replace the top screw with the stand off on the bottomef and tighten it a bit more firmly. Then you can replace the bottom cover. I saw a macro to turn the speaker off and on somewhere but now I can't find it. I don't see a function in the programmers guide that looks like it would work. [Elecraft] K3 Beta Firmware
My K3 #3408 was shipped with v. 3.27. I don't know if it is a release version or beta. I can't find it on the site anywhere. When I tried to load v. 3.30 my rig locked up. They claim I have a bad KIO3 board and sent me another about a week ago so it's about half way here. It took 14 days for my K3 to get here. Six days of that time it sat in Canadian Customs then Canada Post had it for another six days.
