[Elecraft] [K2] FS: KDSP2 for K2 -- price reduced
Price reduced! For sale to fund purchase of KX3: KDSP2 module for K2. I am asking $150 shipped within CONUS. No, I am not parting out my K2--I've just found I prefer the audio provided by the KAF2 over that provided by the KDSP2. Re: [Elecraft] K2 audio issue on CW T/R transition
Thank you very much for the replies. The chirp I'm hearing on T/R transition isn't a shift in my sidetone; it sounds more like a geniune signal somewhere else on the band and my K2 is taking just a tiny moment to stabilize the receive frequency as the K2 switches from transmit to receive. It's a very quick little noise. I don't hear it between CW elements but do between word spaces and sometimes between characters. (I run about 20wpm with my bug.) I haven't yet checked to see if turning off my RIT changes anything. I will probably install the Alternate AF Gain Wiring Mod at some point--I didn't want to change too many things at one time when I replaced the two pots. I will also probably perform the A to B mod at some point, too. Re: [Elecraft] K2 audio issue on CW T/R transition
I've only noticed it on 80m. Thanks for letting me know about the advisory--I'll look for it. Eric, WD8RIF http://home.frognet.net/~mcfadden/wd8rif/radio.htm Mike Harris wrote All bands? [Elecraft] K2 - KDSP2 firmware version?
Good day. My K2 (SN 1872, rev A, firmware 2.04P 1.09) is equipped with a KDSP2 revision DSP 03.10 / CTL 3.10. Three questions: 1.) What is the current KDSP2 firmware revision? 2.) Would I benefit from an upgrade? (I operate almost exclusively CW.) 3.) What would an upgrade cost me? Tnx es 73, Eric WD8RIF http://home.frognet.net/~mcfadden/wd8rif/radio.htm -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/K2-KDSP2-firmware-version-tp7001411p7001411.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] K2 - KDSP2 firmware version?
Hello, Don. Thank you for the reply to my forum posting. You have the latest firmware installed. Yes, there is a slight difference between MCU 2.04P and 2.04r. That one change was to remove the selection for the sidetone source. Many users would suddenly loose the sidetone because the related menu entry had been inadvertently changed. If that one change is desirable for you, you can replace the MCU. Actually, I was asking about the KDSP2 firmware version. Mine, which I purchased used and installed in my K2 last weekend, is version DSP 03.10 / CTL 3.10. I notice the manual shows DSP 3.16 / CTL 3.00. 73, Eric -- William Eric McFadden, WD8RIF Athens, Ohio http://mcfaddenphoto.com -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/K2-KDSP2-firmware-version-tp7001411p7001748.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] K2 - KDSP2 firmware version?
Hello, Don. Now I am confused too. The Elecraft website (in the Order Firmware section) lists 3.10 as the latest KDSP2 firmware. Maybe Lyle and Eric can figure out what is right - either the order page needs to be updated, or the manual has an error. Sorry, but I don't know the answer. OK--thanks. If the website shows 3.10 as being the latest, the manual must be in error. 73, Eric 73, Don W3FPR On 11/16/2011 3:25 PM, wd8rif wrote: Hello, Don. Thank you for the reply to my forum posting.
