Re: [Elecraft] KX3 - VOX Delay with CW in SSB mode
Jim, I just re-tested this with both a keyer paddle and a hand-key. If you set up a VOX delay setup in CW mode, then switch to SSB and hit the key, on release you get the same delay that was in effect for CW mode. (Of course this requires that CW-IN-SSB be turned on by tapping '1' in the CW WGHT menu entry.) The break-in delay for CW purposes must be set up in CW mode. As you rotate the DELAY control, it shows CW x.xx. When you're in SSB mode, the delay setting applies to voice-mode VOX. Rotating the control shows VOX x.xx. Let me know if you have trouble getting this to work. 73, Wayne N6KR On Jan 13, 2014, at 2:31 PM, jimk...@aol.com wrote: With the ARRL VHF contest coming up, I'm still waiting to hear if there has been any progress in getting a delay in the PTT output, vs. full breakin only, when using CW in SSB? The delay time used in straight CW would be fine. 73 - JimK8MR __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

[Elecraft] [KX3] VOX Delay with CW in SSB
I posted a query a few weeks back but neglected to say for which radio. The KX3, FW 1.61, with CW in SSB seems to allow only full break-in operation. This is a problem when using a transverter or amplifier not designed for break in. Am I missing something, or is this in need of an FW revision? I would think using the CW delay times when transmitting CW in SSB would make the most sense. (If CW was set for zero delay, full break-in would still be available). 73 - Jim K8MR __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
