The earlier DSPx modules for the KDSP2 product used an ADSP-2184N DSP
chip. The DSPx for general use, and later modules for the KDSP2 product,
used an ADSP-2185N DSP chip. If your module uses a 2184, it is a drop-in
for the KDSP2. If it uses a 2185, it may be drop-in, or it may require
reprogramming the Flash memory chip (the socketed chip).

[Elecraft] DSPx module

2023-04-11 Thread Victor Rosenthal 4X6GP
While cleaning my shack, I found a KK7P DSP module. This is the heart of
the K2's KDSP2 module, but it is not all of it (it sits on top of the
main KDSP2 board). It is unused. I purchased it for some project many
years ago, and I've entirely forgotten what. It says "KK7P DSP MODULE
REV C (c) 2003" on it.

1. Is this the same version as the one in the KDSP2? That is, can it be
used as a replacement for a bad DSPx in a KDSP2?

2. Is it useful for anyone? I don't want it to be thrown away after my
Last Yard Sale.

3. If someone does want it, I will TRADE it for something interesting.
Not money.
