Here, in EPA with a Verizon FiOS account, even the IP address is not working.  
I’m thinking that Verizon is trapping the domain name and the address.

Have K-Line & KX3 w/PA and the Elecraft site loads fine.
If clearing cache, rebooting computer & router don't help, then it may be a 
DNS issue for some reason . Use 63.249.121.83 to bypass DNS.

I think you have it Lynn.  In the late 90's, my employer had a contract 
with Wells Fargo Bank to help plan and execute the move of a major data 
center from San Francisco to Roseville CA.  As you might suspect, we 
became close friends with the WF IT folk.  It so happened that my 
employer had recently purchased Network Solutions Inc., then the sole 
Internet domain registrar.  At that point, they were updating the DNS 
network daily.


While in a WF facility in PHX, I began to get what looked like random 
numbers on my pager [remember those?]  On the premise that someone 
REALLY wanted to contact me, I began putting parts of the numbers into 
my Palm Pilot Zero [remember those?].  Mike [WF IT guy in SF] popped up, 
I called and asked if he was trying to reach me.  In a huge panic, he 
said, "wellsfargo.com had disappeared from the Internet.  Can you call 
NS since you own them and get it fixed."


I did, they fixed it but it took about 12 hours to propagate everywhere. 
 We tend to take things like the telephone and Internet for granted 
these days, actually we did then too.  They do occasionally have 
hiccups.  For the record, the Elecraft site comes up fine in NW Nevada.

DNS since July 2013.


The zone has a 3 hour TTL, meaning that no provider should cache it 
longer than 3 hours.


Most likely something just plain broke somewhere, and some providers 
don't have a route to Elecraft's host.

Try rebooting any network access hardware you have, such as cable
modems, routers, switches, etc.  I had a similar issue the other day
except that I couldn't get to fox news and a few other sites I visit
regularly.  Ended up rebooting the cable modem and wireless switch.
Everything worked as expected afterward.

I successfully loaded the Elecraft web site from multiple devices in my QTH.
Likeliest cause of problems some places, but not others, is a DNS update
that hasn't fully replicated to all upstream DNS provider servers. When a
change is made, it can take up to 24 hours, and sometimes 36-48 hours,
before the change fully replicates throughout the global DNS infrastructure.
Give time, and see if you still have issues tomorrow.

You might try configuring your computers with an alternate DNS entry. Either 
4.4.4.4 or 8.8.8.8 should work. 

The site is up and functional, which means that something is going on that is 
close to your setup. Probably other sites
are not available to you at present either. Usually that means DNS issues, thus 
trying a different Domain Name
Server will solve things until your regular service provider fixes the problem.

I just pulled it up, no problems, on my Android tablet. Try clearing your
browser cache and your computer's DNS cache. That might help clear out any
stale entries/records.

Try clearing your browser's cache and your computer's DNS cache and see if
that helps.

[Elecraft] Elecraft web site

Hi,

Since the web site has been upgraded I cannot access the complete site with a 
PDA style device.

It is not possible to navigate to the W2 or other products, you can only see 
the K3.

The older site enable me to view the pages in detail.

Are their any changes in the future that will correct this "in the works"?

Does anybody have this restriction or is it a case of me being too old to grasp 
the new technology and I should just stick to HF...(:-((

Thanks to all who replied.
I have now tried it with 3 PC's here, and get the same result.
So unless they all have the same virus etc the problem looks ISP'ish.

The strange thing is that other US based sites such as Telepost and NASA
load at full speed.

I will get a friend who is with another ISP to try.

Resetting the network hardware can work wonders!

Look to your internet provider for the problem - the Elecraft site loads 
in about 2 seconds here, and no it is not coming from the computer cache 
- I tried a page re-load too.

The ISP that hosts www.elecraft.com will be doing maintenance on the 
server which hosts the domain tonight, beginning at 11:45 PM PDT (0645 
UTC Oct 21) We expect the server to be off-line for approximately 3 
hours. Our main web page (including order page) will be down during this 
period.


Also, our ftp site, ftp.elecraft.com, which is used by K3Utility for rig 
updates, will also be off line.


Mail sent to our [EMAIL PROTECTED] addresses will be queued and delivered 
after 3AM -- no mail will be lost.


The Elecraft email reflector list will -not- be impacted. It is hosted 
at qth.net and will continue normal operation.


We should be fully back on-line by 3AM PDT Tuesday, Oct. 21. (1000 UTC  
Oct. 21)

[Elecraft] Elecraft web site now working properly with Safari browser (Mac)

Several customers reported that our web site wasn't behaving correctly 
with the Safari browser, which is supplied with Macs. Thanks to 
analysis by Marc North, W6SQL, we've now fixed the problem, and as a 
bonus, site navigation is faster.  (Thanks, Marc.)

Yes, its up. I just tested it here and we have also been receiving orders off 
it all morning. (It is located at a different site than Elecraft HQ.)


Sometimes the path between sites on the internet can be temporarily 
interrupted. You might want to check with your internet provider to see if 
they see a problem. You can also try accessing our host ISP, 
http://www.cruzio.com to see if that path is working OK for you.
