[Elecraft] K-POD LED 4 control

2022-10-03 Thread Mike Dodd
The P-POD Owner's Manual says on page 11, that LED 4 is always under
user control, and KPLED4ON; turns LED 4 on.

On my K4 I assigned KPLED4ON; to K-pod.7T but pressing F7 on the K-POD
does not turn on LED 4.

Am I missing something, or does this macro not work?

[Elecraft] K-POD LED 4

2018-01-03 Thread john
Great suggestion Tony, and quick. I knew that the K3S's had the same
firmware revision as I did them at the same time months ago however this
evening I checked the K-PODs and the original one was out of date. It was
easy to update and now both act the same with the D4 LED being on all the
time. At least this explains why they acted differently. Neither radios will
switch the light using the KPLED4 command, perhaps a radio firmware update
would help however at the moment I have no interest in using the LED in a
macro so I'll leave it alone.

Hi John,
I would check the s/w versions of each of the rigs and kpods to make
sure they are all the same.
try exchanging one kpod with the other and see if the led on stays with
the rig or the kpod.

My guess is the sw in one of the devices is lower than the other device.

Ralph, as my deceased brother law used to tell me when friends asked such
questions they would give the its in the RTFM. :-) See page 13 #2. That
should be some guidance.

I'd use the "Car Talk" method - put a piece of black tape over the LED you
don't want to see.
