[Elecraft] K2 7006

2010-11-21 Thread david m
Just wanted to say how pleased I am with K2 #7006. It works very well,
and I have made several QRP contacts on different bands even with my
currently terrible antenna setup. It currently has the SSB & Audio
Filter options. Kudos to Elecraft, and all of the helpful members of
this list.

S/N 7006 has passed through the first checkout and alignment tests with
no issues. Great kit! Great instructions!

[Elecraft] K2-7006 KPA100 is on the way

2011-01-03 Thread Johnny Siu
Hello David,

K2 is a great radio for portable use especially the low standby current.

However, when you add up all the options in K2, you may wish to consider a
basic
K3.  The price difference is not huge but performance is miles apart.

 cheers,

Thanks for a great product, Elecraft.  I'm sure the KPA100 will make it
even better!

[Elecraft] K2-7006 KPA100 is on the way

2011-01-03 Thread zendoc

Hi David,

I built the KPA100 for #6998. It went together very easily, but took longer
than I imagined. It's a fairly compact board and quite fiddly in parts, but
there were no unexpected hitches and it fired up first time and has gone like
a dream since. I also needed a fairly hefty iron to solder the PA transistor
leads, but that's explained in the manual.

Enjoy building the KPA100. I did.

John

Yes, I thought about that, but I have already invested in the K2, I'll
use that for a while.

2011-01-04 Thread JAMES ROGERS
David,

Actually, A friend of mine has both the K2 and the K3 and he loves
to get on CW with the K2, as a matter of fact it is his "goto" rig on
that mode. I have the K3/100 and have just purchased my second K2
(Always regretting selling my first one). You will enjoy the K2, it is
a great radio.
