Joel,

Do you have the old or the new encoder? look in the hole to the right of 
the encoder shaft - if you see a bit of green, it is the old encoder, if 
nothing in that hole it is the new one.
The new encoder needs 3 felt washers stacked while the old encoders need 
only one.


Contact Elecraft, and they will send them to you.

Check at your local fabric store or Walmart and look for felt sheets. 
Then you can your own disk without worrying about what's in the felt.
